Built in 1811 by the federal government, the lighthouse has been a beacon for ships for over 200 years. The lighthouse complex includes the Keeper’s Cottage and Light Tower.
Accessibility: The grounds around the lighthouse are open all year. The tower is open only during occasional open houses.

"2 adults and 3 kids travelling. We arrived and within 30 minutes had to leave due to an all out adult asthma attack caused by the air quality of the property. Back entrance has a dangerous portion of a fence blocking stairs that you need to move to get to the backyard.
