Molly Pitcher Inn

"We stayed 2 nights in a Garden View room; heed the warning when booking- there is no elevator to these rooms! There are 2 long staircases. We were fine navigating & carrying our own luggage, but beware if you have mobility issues. I did notice 2 older women checking out down the hall; a staff person was taking their bags to the lobby for them. Garden View rooms are in the older part of the hotel. The room was very comfortable, but a little tired. Nice quality bedding & bath linens. Plentiful pillows! They do use feather pillows & bedding, so if you are allergic (I am) call ahead so they can make up your room feather-free. The bathroom really needs a make-over; clean, but chipped tile and just visual wear & tear. We were returning to our decades-long hometown for a visit after living out of state a few years. The Molly Pitcher did not disappoint. You cannot beat the view from the terrace & dining room, and our dinner was delicious; we appreciated our server allowing us to relax and talk at great length with old friends over dinner without rushing us. Complimentary coffee in the bar each morning-which was enjoyed outdoors on the terrace gazing at the Navesink River. The outdoor pool was so relaxing; 2 plush towels, plenty of lounge chairs to choose from and a poolside bar for cold drinks and snacks. Easy walking distance to shops/restaurants-don’t miss Birravino right across the street for authentic old world Italian and great wines; try Big Vic’s meatballs!"

"We had a great holiday weekend! We were able to get an early check-in and a late check-out, which was very convenient. Beach access is easy, and it wasn’t too crowded since the hotel is far enough from the boardwalk to offer a little more privacy and a quieter atmosphere. At night, we drove to the boardwalk, which is only about 5 minutes away, and parking was easy to find. My kids really enjoyed the pool, and we loved having both easy beach access and the boardwalk just a short drive away. Staff were very friendly. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Overall, a great stay for a family weekend!"
