A room with a view!

The hotel was comfortable, the food was great and the staff was amazing! We had a balcony room overlooking the sea - amazing view of Ela Beach! Thanks for a great stay!

My only complaint about my stay at this hotel was the airport shuttle. I wish they do what most of the other hotels do, where the airport shuttle pick up guests upon arrival. I waited at the airport for an hour and was told they have specific schedules for the airport shuttle. Understandable, however when you have guests arriving at different times, maybe get their arrival information so you can pick them up upon arrival. Waiting for an hour at the airport for the shuttle is unacceptable. Pros: - Hotel have a great restaurant and cafe - Hotel is close to town and my meeting venue. - Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel with friendly staff and stunning view

My first stay in Grand Papua Hotel. Appreciated very nice food, friendly staff and the room, including nice shower and very comfortable bed. For little bit of improvement I would suggest the cleaning service, which only goes around afternoon and on demand, instead of at least fixing the bed and taking out trash automatically in the morning. However, overall it was very pleasant stay. I believe that renovation will improve the hotel even further.

very nice hotel, kind and helpful personal, good food and drinks, a very professional spa. The room was nice and clean, not ideal if You dont sleep very deep, one can hear every talk, the elevators, every door closing... The neighbourhood is ok, one does not feel very safe when dark. Some nice spots around, like Ela beach. Close to the mall and post office.

Pool was closed. Had a massage that was good. The room was cleaned but the carpet was old and stained as was the furniture. To be fair, they are in the process of upgrading the rooms. Unfortunately, the construction and drilling started near my room before 8 every day except Sunday up to 5 pm. The staff were the best. At breakfast I enjoyed Jacqueline and Shannon. Bernadette cleaned the room and straightened it every day. Downstairs assisting me in and out of the hotel were Koni Kila and Blaze Ralewa - they were of great help and started and ended my days pleasantly. Finally, the front desk personnel were instrumental in making my stay a good one, including my stay in an executive room with access to the executive lounge. All in all it was a good stay marred only by the construction noise and dated room, which again is getting an upgrade hence the noise.

Wrong room type attempted to be given at check in - a "complimentary upgrade" was given to the room type actually booked! Then, awoken at 10:40 pm by a phone call insisting the room service bill be paid immediately! Not recommended! I won't be back!

The staff were great! We had to wait at the airport a bit for the hotel shuttle, maybe 30-45 min. We didn't complain or make any special requests as a result of this but they upgraded our room! Very nice!

I have stayed he before and some of the staff remembered me. However as always issues with House Keeping. When I got to my room the door was open. Also only Chinese green tea in the room. I had to ask for English Breakfast tea which was provided. The breakfast was OK but bacon was very tough and the avocado was rotten. It should never have been put out. The croissants were stale too. At check out time I was pestered with phone calls and staff knocking at the door at 10:05. I found it irritating and unnecessary as the hotel was half empty. They need to improve.
