The staff were really friendly, excellent English and local knowledge. My brother left his phone behind and the staff ran after us down the street to ensure it was returned, they also handled our inquiries to book a boat to Morro de Sao Paulo. We were greeted with a warm, friendly check in. Thankfully we were given both our rooms a couple of hours early - appreciate the flexibility from the hotel. Filepe was extra helpful throughout our stay - suggesting places to eat, organising taxis etc. We found most of the staff to be very friendly. Great location. We booked this for its location to visit Pelouinho area, Afterwards I read reviews about the area & was little bit worried, but I needn't have been worried. Yes the area looks a little run down but that gives it the traditional Salvador feel. Just a short walk to the centre ( down & up a hill) there is large police presence at the top of the hill & they watch you walk back to hotel so felt very safe, but use common sense in not being too flashy with your belongings.
