Front desk staff was super friendly, and allowed me to not only check in early but also gave a free upgrade. The room was spacious and clean. It’s valet parking only, but since I don’t carry cash with me, the valet staff all have Venmo for convenience. Smart!
Friendly and helpful staff in hotel and restaurant (breakfast was fast, tasty, service excellent). Easy walk to Boston MBTA commuter train or Amtrak. Walkable to College Hill and to dowtown. Easy walk to current bus transit hub in case you want to visit Newport (just over an hour away by bus). Visit the state house across the street if you can.
Bathroom needs a deep cleaning. There was rust. The marble bathroom counter was cracked and sealed and has permanent stains in it. There were several stains on the carpet and furniture in my room and outside of my room. You’re unable to open the window.
The front desk staff was extremely awkward. Did not make me feel comfortable. He also told more information to other people than I.
Despite me being a tipping customer, valet made me wait and took over people before me. We had to call them over to receive service.
The hotel also has no amenities.
Wouldn’t stay here again.
I stayed here for a few days. The hotel property was lovely and the staff was attentive and helpful. Used restaurants nearby as prices in the hotel restaurant were high.

Excellent location to the arts. Theater and convention center in walking distance as well as several eating establishments. Fantastically friendly and helpful staff. Great valet service. Very comfortable beds. Disliked configuration of shower, bathroom lighting.

No food available between 11-4 otherwise great hotel
Check-in was awful. Instead of the valet parking on-site, we had to park off-site and walk with our bags to the hotel. Essentially, the hotel was completely unprepared for Saturday afternoon check-in.

I recently stayed at the Providence Renaissance, unexpectedly, over Christmas because my family members had COVID.
But it turned out to be a merry Christmas for me because the hotel and staff were so great, AND they had room service. (Many hotels don’t, post-COVID.)
I highly recommend the Providence Renaissance to business or leisure travelers!
