Great room with a lovely view from the balcony, quiet, comfortable bed, staff were lovely and very helpful. Pool area was nice and restaurant food was good. Lots of local wildlife can be seen on the site (howler monkeys, macaws, toucans).

We had a wonderful stay at Selva Verde.

Top marks to the staff (special thanks to Xavi, Claudia, and Esteban) who made this the best hotel during our trip as their service was with a genuine smile and helpfulness. The rooms are very simple (youth hostel standard) but it is well-kept. The surroundings (lots of birds) are magical and fresh (lovingly-prepared) breakfast and dinner was very good. It is remote (that makes it special) so you do need a car or rely on transport. Highly recommend doing the Green Rivers rafting tour and the...

Really enjoyed our stay here, wish we could have stayed longer! Saw so many tropical frogs too.

Initially this hotel seems placed on the noisy main road with the dining room open to it. But the rooms are at a distance in the forest. Thus complete silence. The pool was very good and the food excellent. My room had a shower that worked but needed some attention to the head. Having put an expresso machine in the bedroom it seemed odd to only get one capsule when was staying three nights. Staff so helpful. Sarapiqui is an ordinary Costa Rican town away from the main tourist route and thus an...

The wildlife along the concrete forest trails.

We spent a wonderful five nights here in a family room and it was a truly immersive rainforest experience we will never forget. You are deep in the forest and an abundance of wildlife is all around-including some in your room or on your terrace so you need to be comfortable with that. We saw many toucans, hummingbirds, howler monkeys, an anteater, possums, and many jungle insects right from our room and immediately outside it, The howler monkeys wake you at 5am every day with deafening calls...

Really wonderful place to stay with fantastic staff

This place is paradise, we didn’t want to leave

We came back to Costa Rica just because of our memories of the first time we stayed here and were not disappointed. They'd improved the dining room since last time but the birds were still as great. The last 20k of the approach is now sealed apart from the last 3.

The place has a special charm… people are very nice and welcoming, the room is nice and clean, and the surroundings are fantastic

Sarapiqui rainforest lodge was one of the highlights of our three week trip round Costa Rica which saw us stay in 7 different hotels! It really was what i thought an ecolodge experience would be. The rounds huts were really great, the hotel has a lot of beautiful grounds and an amazing infinity pool surrounded by gardens and rainforest. We saw all manner of birds and wildlife from the pool including toucans and a huge lizard which actually briefly got in the pool with the children much to their...
