Really beautiful old building in old part of the city with a thrilling location and amazing views. The staff was extremely kind and helpful with all sorts of logistics. Graciously accommodated our late arrival and early departure. Breakfast was fantastic. We had a great stay and can’t recommend this hotel enough.

The hotel is lovely. Great interiors, spacious rooms, Terrific views, great location. The staff are absolutely excellent. Let them arrange airport transfers and tours, as they will arrange everything perfectly. Breakfast is terrific. Dinner at the hotel restaurant requires reservations, also quite nice. Arrange steam room and jacuzzi in advance at the front desk, as they take a bit of time to warm up. Short walk downhill to old Quito, shopping, museums, lots of churches and restaurants. Take a cab or an uber back. It is steep!

Vista del Angel is a small but excellent hotel a few kilometers north and up from the downtown area. It is an excellent area to overlook the city, mountains and angel. It is walking distance from downtown and easy to get to because it is a steep downhill climb. However, walking back up to the hotel is exceptionally more difficult. The parking is free although it is very limited. The entire hotel is exceptional in cleanliness. The entire staff is excellent. The breakfast was the highest quality I ate during my entire vacation. It had the freshest fruits and wonderful juices.

This property is beautiful and the views from this hotel were incredible; they even had a telescope in the restaurant to see the "angel" up close! We got a corner room, with breath-taking city views from every angle. We got a wonderful breeze in the room by opening the windows. Every single staff member that we encountered was amazing - friendly, attentive, and happy to accommodate our every need - especially James. To use the jacuzzi, we had to give 4 hours' notice, but it was a delightful way to spend an evening with a bottle of wine. One note: the hotel is located in a more residential area and there was quite a bit of noise throughout the night (dogs barking, cars honking, etc.). If you are a light sleeper, you will probably need earplugs. The street is also quite steep with a very narrow turn at the bottom, and one of our drivers told us that some tours won't pick up from Vista del Angel because of the difficulty in getting larger vehicles through. We had no trouble getting Ubers to the hotel throughout our stay though. Food and service in the restaurant were delightful. Beautiful views from here too; though I wish the restaurant was open during the day so that we could sit on the lovely terrace for lunch or a drink. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fabulous hotel in Quito!

Beautiful hotel, great location in colonial Quito. Just be ready to get your heart rate up walking back during the day. Wouldn’t recommend walking around at night.
