After a midnight arrival KEF, the Nupan is a quick taxi (or Hopp) to a welcoming guesthouse. Easy check-in, spotlessly clean, quiet and comfy. Coffee and a bite in the morning before next leg. Great value and friendly staff.
We arrived quite late and the instructions for how to enter were clear and self checkin went smoothly.
It is a clean organized well managed situation for our one night there, and the bed was comfortable. Thank you.
Great low cost option. It was very quiet and well maintained, and also walking distance to the harbor and several restaurants. There was no one at the front desk however, and it took several tries to reach anyone by phone. Best to communicate by text.
We loved our stay at Nupan Deluxe. The rooms are arranged around common rooms that are very inviting and cozy. The bedrooms were clean, beds comfortable, bathrooms updated, beautifully decorated. We didn’t hear other guests from inside our room. The kitchen was well stocked with a shared mini fridge, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, and other appliances. A sweet dining area with books to borrow is adjoining. The general vibe was calm, peaceful, inviting, and cozy. It was an easy walk to the local shops and a cheap taxi ride from the airport.
The hotel owners/staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating, the property is close to the airport and a lovely harbour area, rooms are basic with no TV and it is shared toilets and bathrooms, this was manageable as it was only one night, the hotel provides a basic breakfast(cereal etc) free of charge(not part of the room rate) which is really nice of them, they prepared and let us occupy our room in the morning hours before the check in time, you can also arrange a shuttle with them which is much cheaper than taxis, overall a great experience for the price,
Cereal and milk is about it for the kitchen. They have a fridge for your convenience which is great! Some rooms may not have a bathroom so you have to go to the lobby to do anything. It’s not a big problem at all since everything is close by. Great staff and a wonderful facility!!
The owner picked us up from the airport in Keflavik. We found the property to be very clean and comfortable. It was very quiet and relaxing and decorated with artwork and plants. The owner and his wife were very accommodating and attentive. The location is within walking distance of a grocery store and local restaurants. It is located in a very safe area. There were three of us ladies traveling together and we felt very safe. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Keflavik and looking for a very cozy, comfortable, clean and safe place to stay.
I was warmly greeted & assisted to my room. Generously offered coffee, tea or cereal breakfast. The room was comfortable & in a great walking location, close to the ocean. (Only downfall was that I was looking forward to a sauna or hot tub soak, but sauna is now a storage shed & hot tub was being emptied). The shuttle service to get to the airport was good value for price, as I took bus & walked 1.3 kms from bus stop to get to the property.
If you choose to stay here, definitely make sure you arrange how to get into the property before you arrive. There isn't someone on site to welcome guests, and I arrived with no communication from the hotel staff regarding how to get into the building. I tried to reach out to the property managers via the hotels.com app, and they did not respond. There were three other guests waiting outside in the same situation. Eventually one of the other guests was able to get someone on the phone to help us gain access to the property, but I was almost to the point of booking a room at another hotel because I didn't think we were going to be able to get in. It worked out, but so much stress could have been avoided if the property management would have done a better job of communicating. The property is a decent value for what you pay, but note that the room did not have a private bathroom. It was a shared bathroom on the first floor of the property.
Check-in was very easy. Instructions were provided beforehand by message and email. Staff were friendly and polite. Room was clean, however walls were thin and alarm went off around midnight, but was cleared promptly. Otherwise would consider staying here again.
The place was clean and staff was very pleasant. But I encountered 2 issues that made my stay very unpleasant: 1) I was in room #8 which had a large twin bed. There was a deep bowling ball-sized crater in the mattress that was not apparent when I first checked in because the comforter was covering the bed. This was not a minor unevenness but a major depression that measured almost 10cm deep. I had to move the pillow to the other end in order to sleep; 2) the guest in the next room snored very loudly the entire night. I'm not sure what management can do about this, of course, but it's a potential concern for this type of lodging house where the rooms are immediately next to each other with very thin walls. These 2 issues resulted in a very poor night's sleep in an otherwise clean, spacious, and well-located facility.
