Great staff and food. Botafogo is where to stay if you like the feel of a neighborhood as opposed to downtown or beachfront. Great food within walking distance and the breakfast buffet is excellent
Good location and very clean hotel. The bed mattress is hard, therefore it was not comfortable. Some front desk people were not that helpful.

Disliked: Amenities
The hotel is very basic. The rooms are quite small, and the hotel seems to operate at full capacity most of the time. They are generally unable to accommodate early check-in or late check-out. Guests have to wait in the lobby until 3:00 PM, and then suddenly all the rooms seem to become available for check-in at the same time.
There is no iron in the room. If you need one, you have to go to the front desk, get a special key, and access the first floor, which is a little inconvenient.
The hotel is cheaper than many other options in Rio, so in some ways, you get what you pay for. The housekeeping staff seemed to work very hard and did a good job cleaning our room, although the hallways could use more attention.
Even a cup of coffee in the reception area costs extra. Overall, the hotel served its purpose, and given the price and our limited options, it was acceptable, but guests should expect very basic accommodations.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Cleanliness
Sraff was nice. Good breakfast. However room and building need renovations. Cleaning us below avarage and they don't provide face towels.
Very friendly and helpful staff! They were kind and attentive to our needs. The hotel was extremely clean and we thoroughly enjoyed staying in it. The surrounding area was also very safe and accessible with various amenities such as transportation and dining nearby.
The staff at the hotel were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was ok, nothing fancy, but nice to have the option.
The room was dirty, moist, smells bad and has mold in the bathroom. You can tell the bedding is not washed between guests. The pillows and mattress are old and stained. The bathroom has black mold growing in the room and the shower is really dirty, I had to use my sandals.
The room smelled so moldy especially with the AC on. The bed comes with one sheet, one pillow and no blanket. I wouldn’t mind so much but I spent $300 per night here and the room is a health risk. I would not stay here again and would steer friends away from here too.
In general, the hotel is ok for the price you pay. However, I found some nail pieces in the bathroom, which tells me the cleaning is really poor. Also, the noise coming from other rooms and the hallway is annoying. I don't think I will come back.
