"We screwed up and failed to book Sunday night, but hadn't noticed and left our stuff in the room. The Hotel had an opportunityto be amazing. However, they assumed we were trying to get over on them and treated us as such. The front desk lady called us at 3pm, and told us we were being charged for the night but we could get a better price through Expedia. We were at a museum 15 minutes away, and we told her we had planned on staying anyway. But it felt confrontational, and it sat poorly with us. We talked to the other desk person, and were told to contact the manager the next day. We made that phone call on Monday, and received a half-hearted apology and an explanation that this is a common occurrence in Memphis.
While this isn't a horrible situation, it still could've been a great example of customer service. It's a shame it wasn't."
