Room, toilet & showers were pretty clean. Staff were helpful and speak different languages. Fun bar right down stairs. Walking distance from the train/bus station. And right in room. Would definitely recommend booking here. Only thing is wifi isn’t so great and you won’t get much quiet since there’s a bar right down stairs. Overall a pretty good hostel

A pleasant stay

Spent two days here. Very pleased. Staff very friendly, hostel facilities incl. kitchen quite satisfactory. Free luggage room for early arrival until check in. 2 euro/12h locker room for use on day of leave. I would very well stay here another time. Neighbourhood is a bit but not far away from the most central Rome, it is actually quite nice to get back to Castro Pretorio after having been in the heavily crowded areas of the city. I usually walk back here (been in this neighborhood many times) but buses and metro are quite close. Lots of cafes, bars, restaurants around. The hostel is just a few minutes walk from Termini and supermarkets/other shops.

Perfect hostel for backpackers, groups of friends and solo travellers. Reception staff are welcoming, professional, and available throughout the night. My mixed dorm was clean, comfortable and all the amenities were much appreciated (Large, free locker with lots of storage space, 2-plug socket right next to each bed, chairs, a table and clean fresh bedding.) Downstairs there is a bar where guests hang out, have a drink and talk with other travellers & from 10pm-1am there is karaoke. There is a free-to-use kitchen with loads of seating space, a large fridge and is equipped with all the cooking utensils one might need, as well as a microwave and 2 hobs. A huge surprise for me was the showers, which were just perfect in every way. They were clean, spacious, the water pressure was just right and no issues with the hot water. Make sure to bring your own towel as this is not provided, but that is expected as it’s not a hotel establishment. Toilets are equally as clean and accessible. The hostel is located literally less than 5 mins walk away from Rome Termini which is the main train station with an abundance of bus stops - very convenient for if you’ve booked a bus/coach ticket from the airport to the station or vice versa. It only took me ~25 minutes to walk into the centre of Rome (where trevi fountain, pantheon are) so this is also easily doable if you’re struggling to navigate the metro. Alessandro palace and bar is absolutely worth the money and i can’t recommend it enough.

Overall the Alessandro was good! We enjoyed our private room. The location is great with restaurants right outside the front door. The front desk people were very helpful at all times. We didn’t love shower pressure was so harsh it sprayed water all over our bathroom even with the curtain. But overall would stay again.

This is a fine place to stay. There’s nothing spectacular about it but for a stay in rome it’s good. It’s nice that it’s close to the train station but a pretty far walk to anything else but we don’t mind walking.

Great location for the hostel and great hostel! They came in and cleaned the beds/sheets as well as the floor and bathroom after every checkout I witnessed during my stay. The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke English, too. There is a tax you have to pay in cash (I believe it was about 4 euros a night) and 2 euros cash deposit for the room key. But you get that back if you return the key. There are free maps of Rome, they have a bar and vending machine. There are some restaurants right outside of the hostel, too. Great place.
