"Melanie was so nice and helpful. Even when there was a water problem, she was always there to help. We always choose this place and even more so with Melanie there."

"The property and staff were wonderful as usual. Our issue is that they now charge for parking. This fee is new, as we have stayed here many times in the past. This property is not in a location that would need to have exclusive rights to parking and charging to park here is ridiculous. The hotel is located in an area all by itself. "Not very clean. We had a cockroach in our bedroom and we also saw a cockroach in the breakfast area."

"Don't accept a stay in Room #105. The exterior door leading into building at end of hall slams and can be a real bother if traffic is high. There are no directions for use of tv control devices. All controls are not alike."

"Bedbugs upon arrival. Unfortunately, because it was late at night, there was no maid service to help. Room facing the parking lot so couldn't sleep because the lights coming from the lot. Curtains did not help much as high still went into the room. Only positive was the location as I needed to be close to the hospital."

"We enjoyed our stay at Hampton Inn, Salem. The front desk staff was kind and helpful. The faculty was clean, and it was easy to get on and off the highway. A simple fix would make this a great place to stay. Provide pillows that have some stuffing. With three pillows, I still could not get a normal pillow height nor any support. Next time, I will bring my own. Overall, a great stay. The shower was great, too."

"IF YOU ARE A SINGLE WOMAN TRAVELING ALONE DO NOT STAY HERE. I want to preface this by saying I hate leaving bad reviews, I never want to judge someone on possibly just one off day. The hotel itself was fine. It was clean. It wasn’t super modern, but you get what you pay for. The interaction I had with staff, however, was bad. I got to the hotel around 12:30 AM. I’ve been driving all day and I was exhausted. The door to the lobby was locked for safety reasons and so I rang the doorbell only to...

"I loved the room It was very spacious.. I love the history of the building( architecture too) and the convenience to everything downtown."

"Office manager was very kind and response was very fast. The location is close to many convenient stores to buy food or some other travel items. There is a fire station next to the hotel and so I felt safe."

"Staff was brand new and in the phone messed up my reservation and charged me twice then. The manager didn’t want to give me a refund, even though the staff and their new system messed up my reservation. The hotel was good but the service was terrible"
