At first look, the room seemed fine-ish. Got in late so we didn't look around thoroughly. The next day is when we started seeing the issues. The bathroom had mold growing on the ceiling above the shower. There was a very large sliced open bubble of the ceiling that drooped down that had clearly previously held a large amount of water. There were other small bubbles growing along the wall too. The shower head was crusted. When we each showered, the water didn't drain. Like the drain needed to be cleaned out. The bathroom sink faucet was loose and the drain under the counter leaked slightly. The kitchen area was okay, dusty and old. On night 2 we found a cockroach on the counter. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. There were hairs in the sheets/bedding. The TV remote had not been cleaned in a while and had stuff on it. The door to the room had a gap between the frame and the door edge. There was a building alarm that was going off down the hall from the time we arrived on our 2nd night until we left the next morning, about 8 hours. No clue how long it had been going before then or how long it went on after that. The elevator clearly runs into something when between the first and second floor. I believe we were given the room we had because we had our dog with us. Staff was fine, no issues. I didn't raise any of these concerns at the hotel as the SLC marathon was going on and I was told on check in that they were full because of that. It was that room or sleep in the car.

Our room was really gross. We were immediately hit in the face by the smell of mildew upon entering our room. Couch was so stained that we didn’t sit on it. Bathroom had broken fixtures. Bathtub was dirty. Some sort of substances on the walls. They were sold out so we couldn’t switch rooms.

The room was clean and comfortable. Its a pretty basic room but nice. Just an fyi there are no usb ports in the room, so you have to have an adapter to charge your electronics. I was there for medical reasons, my husband was in the hospital, they kept changing his discharge date and the afternoon front desk workers were fantastic at helping me extend my stay without having to change rooms. I was so grateful to them for their help. I usually didn't have any problem finding a parking spot when I got back from being at the hospital all day. The staff always greeted me and were very helpful and nice. It was nice to have a little kitchen so that I could fix my own meals and not have to eat out. So much cheaper that way. Another fyi there is no oven, just a 2-burner range and a microwave. But mostly that's all you really need. I would stay there again. It has close by shopping and eateries.

When I pulled back the bedsheets it was obvious that the linens had not been changed. There was a long black hair and several black specks of something on the bottom sheet. Gross. I will say though that the manager quickly changed the linens for me after I brought it to her attention.

When I pulled back the bed cober sheet it was obvious that the linens had not been changed. There were specks of some black substance and a very long black hair on the bottom sheet. The desk agent was apologetic and changed the linens herself. Still though, kind of gross to think I might have slept using a stranger’s pillows and sheets had I not noticed it.

I could only have two towels for my room. I would have to exchange towels at the desk each day for new ones. With long hair, I always use two towels, and my spouse uses one. It's an odd rule. I also got a lecture on using a third-party booking site. I have been in worse places, but I've also stayed at much better places for the same price. The location was the best part.

Staff was friendly. It took 3 attempts to find a room that could be inhabited. First had a broken toilet (found this out after unpacking everything). Second smelled terrible and wasn’t clean. Third was only acceptable because it was after midnight; also smelled real rough. Shopping center is nice; this property has been let go/not maintained.

Thevfirstbroom assigned 9n both my stays in the pastv2 months were unacceptable. One took all my strength to close the room door. The second time the room smelled so bad i paid out of pocket and drove 20 minutes to stay somewhere else (apparently they were sold out of the room class i selected). Both times mgt provided a comfortable alternative room at no additional charge (from them). Good location, good price, easy access to skiing and shopping. I am a solo make traveler so can be a little flexible. If i was traveling w my wife,or on business i would spend more to avoid these situations.

I stayed 7 nights at the Mainstay, and asked to extend my reservation for two extra nights. One of the staff at the reception was nice, and told me she would keep me in the same room for those 2 extra nights (February 28th to 2nd March) So I went skiing early in the morning on the 28th, when I arrived in the end of the day, I came by the reception to pay for the next 2 nights, but a different person was in the reception. She started yelling without any reason at me, saying that she was not the one taking payments, that I should have done that a few hours earlier, that she canceled my reservation, and that I had 5 minutes to pick my bags and leave the hotel or she would call the police. I have videos showing the way I was treated. I had to pack all my stuff, in five minutes, and when I left the room, there was this random big guy threatening me, screaming at me, saying I should leave through the back door of the hotel, or he would beat me. I worked in the hotel industry before, traveled all over the world, and never heard, or experienced anything like that. I want to make a formal complaint, and show the videos, and talk to the manager. Looking forward to hearing from Expedia about this threatening experience I just had at Mainstay Suites.

The room was okay. I actually stayed here years ago when it was under another name. The rooms are a little dated, but it was okay. No USB ports in our room. The sofa was uncomfortable, mostly because it is a hide a bed. The chairs were better. The bed was comfortable. The young lady that checked us in could have been a little more informative and friendly. She never told us that they had coffee and tea in the morning from 5 am to 10 am. I found that out from the afternoon clerk the next afternoon! The afternoon clerk was very friendly and she was very helpful to me, I really appreciated it. If you are looking for more amenities type of room go somewhere else, but if you are just looking for a quiet, convenient place to stay this would be good.
