"Second time staying at the property. Front desk staff was excellent both times! 15th floor smelled like cigarette smoke when we arrived. Restaurant hosts leave something to be desired, service and food is above average for the area."

"Every staff member was always polite, informative and helpful in every way possible. The breakfast was always fresh and hot and the happy hour was outstanding. These two items were a plus along with all the other amenities the hotel had to offer. We stayed for three days. I should have mentioned that first."

"We LOVED the architecture and the historical significance of the hotel. The lobby was lovely to sit in. Our room was comfortable, and we slept well on the mattress. That said, there were a few cleanliness issues. The carpets in the hallways upstairs were dirty (as in not well vacuumed) as well as stained in several areas. Just not super well kept. Also our bathroom was not totally cleaned. Toilet seat had some residue on it. That being said, my spouse and I are pretty low maintenance people, so this did not throw off our stay. We loved the atmosphere and beauty of the hotel, as well as the incredible location right next to the Alamo and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. Would stay here again."

"Our initial room had little pieces of animals on top of the bed so we asked to change to another room. The second room was the same, the bed was filthy and full of debris. I asked to change to another room and the clerk at the lobby hesitated to do the move but did it anyway. That room was finally decent. The hotel smelled like weed the whole time. Breakfast was good. I would not stay here again."
