"This is a throw-back to the days of the good old motor lodge. A tiki bar bar, for starters but a tiki bar with good local beer. A wonderful shaded pool area. Light switches that are self-evident and don't require an engineering degree to figure out. Instructions to housekeeping that are followed. You know what I am talking about. The one downside? The patio doors/balconies all face the setting sun, which leads to three hours a night of intense sunlight and heat in a non-air conditioned room. But the rest of it is good enough to leave the room from 4 to 7 p.m. and do something, which is what vacations should be about, right? We were skeptical of the restaurant, but it turned out to be fine as well. So, resist the urge to judge this place. It is not half bad. And it represents something that is quickly disappearing."
