Stunning location, jaw dropping views, a wonderful place to stay

We visited for a triathlon so the area was very busy. There is a free car park available which was full at times. It was also exceptionally hot. The air conditioning was very effective. The rooms were clean and reasonably well equipped. There was very little storage. The bed was comfortable. It was a 15 minute walk to the supermarket and the old town. Spacious and cool apartment in a small complex. The kitchen is small but has two cooker rings, a fridge, kettle and microwave. There is an oven in the shared section together with a washing machine, dryer and big freezer. The on-site restaurant is good, set meals only and only open for dinner at the weekend when we were there. Breakfast available every day if pre-booked. A nice pool that was popular with families. We found the hotel to be very well run with friendly and caring staff. Our room was large and well appointed. The breakfast buffet and other meals were excellent. The hotel is in a beautiful, tranquil rural setting but in easy reach of Figueres, Girona and the coast.

The staff were friendly and attentive, nothing was tok much trouble. You could relax at the hotel, the honesty bar was great and the pool area was a nice place to chill out. Its also only a short walk into the city, alternatively there are buses running every 15 minutes. An added bonus is that the hotel is right by a hospital, so even the most accident prone people are catered for.

Beautiful, unique property on a very tranquil and scenic location. A 7,5 km drive up from the main road brings you to the top of the hill. Stunning finca with magnificent views and silence all around, pure heaven! The staff are brilliant, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. True hospitality. We stayed for 4 nights over the Easter weekend, watching the motorcycle trial in Sant Joan de les Abadesses and sight seeing in the process. I had been here once before for an afternoon and was very impressed and vowed to return. We had a room with tremendous views and the facilities were pristine. Lady on the desk was very good went out of her way to help us out great little apartment hotel

The view was amazing even better than in the photos when I booked. The evening meal was very regional and not as much choice as in other Paradors. As usual I’d recommend half board for value. The breakfast was lovely though for the first 30 minutes or so there was only one girl doing everything she did a good job. The swimming pool was fabulous great location really clean and drinks available to buy poolside. Really peaceful location we only stayed for one night wish we had stayed longer.

El Porxo is a beautiful home/bed and breakfast in a quiet neighbourhood about 20 mins walk (5 mins bus or drive) outside the city centre. The neighbourhood has good restaurants and shops. Hosts are wonderfully welcoming and the breakfast is incredible.

Very helpful staff, luggage stored pre-check in helped, and after check-out, allowing more time to explore. Well situated for visiting the town. Hope to return.

Lovely! Would stay again despite that it is doesn’t offer the usual services you expect from a full hotel. I guess this is simply down to cost paring. They must have got a huge architect bill to build this and which went well over budget and they are cutting services to save cash. Not great for guests.
