Great hotel, out of the city but close enough by taxi. Staff excellent. Restaurant was fantastic!

The surroundings are heavenly. We spent a night only and could not experience the spa , the food presentation and taste were super. I could spend days just to soak in the beautiful surroundings.

As always welcoming staff, great attention to details, amenities, cleanness of the rooms and comfort.

Excellent hotel near the old town & everything within walking distance. Was here over new year. Disappointed that the bar was closed by 12.30 on New Year’s Eve. Breakfast was excellent but the plates were cold everything you would want for breakfast was there. Spa was excellent first day was so busy so we decided to go after breakfast about 9 am & in the evening about 8 was quiet. & more manageable a lot of kids in during the day. Will definitely go back here.

The Grand Hotel is superbly located. As I entered the lobby, I was warmly greeted and advised of the location of breakfast and also the times On arrival at my room I was immediately impressed by the amount of space I had and how richly furnished and decorated it was. The king sized bed was very comfortable and high standard furnishings were provided, along with effective air conditioning. Good location, near a little park with a nice cafe and not too far to walk from the centre. Excellent breakfast- great variety with different diets catered for. The hot smoked salmon was amazing.

Good housekeeping daily. Nice beds& shower. Mirrors! Old fashioned TV! Breakfast Lovely. Location, Lovely cool Domino shopping mall 7 min walk. Tram 2, stop outside hotel. 25 min into Centrals & buses. Lifts. Mini fridge. Enjoyable 3 nights nice stay would encourage people to book and all at a good price too. :)

Really high-spec hotel and room. All beautifully decorated and presented, including public areas. Young staff on reception were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. Our twin apartment was small but top notch and very well equipped. It was handy to be able to get extra items such as pillows, toaster and iron from reception. On first impressions the area this side of the station where the hotel is located was not very nice. However, it was in fact safe and interesting, especially the markets....

Beautiful hotel with good facilities, soft furnishings make this a high end hotel in new state of repair. In an excellent location for exploring old town. Loved everything about this hostel. The location is super convenient, an easy walk to the city centre and the staff were friendly. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless, and the overall atmosphere was fantastic. The cherry on top was the free fruit! I would definitely come back again

I was very impressed with this hotel when I visited the Latvian capital earlier this year. So, when the opportunity arose for a city break in Riga just before Christmas, the Hotel Valedemars was an obvious choice for me. As with my previous visit the hotel was spotlessly clean. It is well-located, just a short walk from the Old Town and adjacent to the Art Nouveau area. However, it is the staff that really make this hotel a success - friendly, courteous and professional.
