We had an absolutely horrible experience during our stay at the Ela Excellence Hotel. From the moment we checked in, we were kept waiting for five hours because they didn’t recognize our VIP access. When we pointed it out and showed them availability for an upgrade, they flat-out refused to accommodate us.
When we finally got to our room, it was shockingly filthy, with hair and grime left from previous guests. The room was also full of insects and pests. After we documented the conditions and showed the staff, they finally changed our room. However, the new room reeked of chemicals and was still dirty, with stained linens. It’s absolutely shameful that a hotel would treat guests like this and deliver such a subpar experience. They even downgraded us from the room category we had originally paid for and told us, “This is Turkey, do whatever you want, you’re not getting anything from us.”
The staff’s rude and dismissive attitude was appalling. We were repeatedly intruded upon by staff despite a “Do Not Disturb” sign, for maintenance we never requested. If you value your money and your vacation time, do not stay at this hotel. It’s a disgrace to Turkish hospitality.
