"Nicely appointed room (great high ceilings) and bathroom. Careful when showering as water gets sprayed everywhere as it is essentially a wet room. We were on the mountain and parking lot side. Unless you are going to be in your room a lot I am not sure the up charge for the ocean view is worth it. Would stay here again.
Enjoyed the hot tub but not the long trek down to it and the sauna. They provide bathrobes but still felt weird trooping through the lobby and bar in a wet bathing suit and shoes. There is nothing around the hotel other than a nice cafe south of the hotel but it closes at 5pm. Restaurant was very expensive and fortunately we had eaten at the cafe prior to check in. Hot tub was nice after a long day. Sauna was full so didn’t use it. For the size of the property maybe they need to expand that. Oh and the name is a little deceiving as the Glacier Lagoon is still a 30 minute drive away. Highly recommend the puffin tour with Einar. "
"Great hotel stay along the ring road! Staff was nice, helped me fill my camelbacks, breakfast was good and filling, and the room was cozy. No complaints! "
"We stayed for two nights. Long but amazing drive after 3 nights in Rekjavik. We were 1.5 hr drive from glacier lagoon tour (amazing experience on a zodiac). Location of hotel is quiet. It’s a real surprise - bar area is just lovely. Amazing cocktails. We had two complementary for our birthdays!! Ate in restaurant both nights. Great food. Breakfast plentiful. Staff were great - especially Adrianna from Czech Republic. Room 130. Suited us just fine. Bathroom door and lighting not great and walls paper thin. Second night we had very loud neighbours. Had to complain as it went on too long and night staff stepped in. I really hate complaining but some people forget they’re in a hotel."
"On arrival (26/04) we were greated by a lovely lady, she was helpful and changed our room to two single beds instead of a double bed, that was a life saver. (Parking was easy too and plenty of spaces)
Room was SUPER clean and everything you could need there. Tea and coffee facilities was brilliant. The beds were extremely comfortable and the view was our of this world. Shower had shampoo, conditioner and body wash that smelled amazing and the shower was very powerful!
The only "criticism" I have about the room is the kettle placement, we had to use the bathroom plug to boil it as the closest plug to the desk was too far away.
Breakfast was good, plenty of bread and crackers available, cheese, ham and fruits etc, cereal and hot food (beans, egg, bacon and small sausags). The only "criticism" I have if I was being very very fussy about breakfast was that there wasn't a lot of yoghurt selection to choose from, there was only one yoghurt choice.
All in all, brilliant location to stop between Höfn and Vik, clean room and hotel overall, friendly staff and would definitely visit again."
"Great hotel. We ended up staying at Hotel Laki instead of the bungalows because it was more convenient.
The staff were so kind. One of the nicest we've encountered in Iceland.
- The receptionist changed our booking month when we got it wrong and helped us cancel one of our double bookings because of the snowstorm.
- The restaurant staff, Arna and Jose, gave my daughter boxed apple juice, bread to feed the horses inc baby horses nearby, gave a small gift to my daughter, and a small cake when my daughter told them it was my birthday.
Spacious rooms, great bar area with fun games to play during the snowstorm. "
