Location, location, location

Excellent location. Very close to the cathedral and the historic center of Sofia. Rooms are nice and very friendly staff. There is no bar or restaurant and their breakfast was average.

The location is great - next to the historic downtown Sofia. The staff is friendly, respectful and 24/7 available. We needed a taxi at 3:30 am and it came 4 minutes after the receptionist made the call. Will be back.

Front desk employees were all very friendly and helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations. Main down fall was lack of WiFi in the room. However, WiFi worked well in the lobby area. Good location and great breakfast!

Excellent choice

We had such a great staying in this hotel! The room was very comfortable, cozy, clean and quiet. The breakfast was amazing, big variety of foods. The stuff at the reception and the restaurant very polite and professional. The hotel located in the center of Sofia, walkable distance to every tourist attraction in the center. Will recommend the hotel!

Almost all of the staff (Alex, Ava, Vanya, director of breakfasts) was terrific with the exception of one receptionist, who was sullen and unresponsive. The hotel is centrally located -- across the street from the opera, which we attended -- and not far from the important sites. Breakfasts were wonderful.

A very nice hotel located in the centre of Sofia. The Alexander Nevski Cathedral is 5-10 minute walk, The Largo, Sveta-Nedela Cathedral and Banya Bashi Mosque and Vitosha Boulevard are 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable beds and have tea and coffee making facilities. Highly recommended.

Disappointing business trip

Upon check in receptionist very rude. Room was not terribly clean and shower pan did not drain. Had to ask for shower gel as run out. Pretty poor for a 4 star hotel. My colleague had to change rooms, as air conditioning did not work, not great in 42 degree heat. Also, same problem with shower and room Not properly cleaned. Excellent location and let down with above.

Aside from a check out from a receptionist who was unfriendly to the point of hostile, the hotel was otherwise fine, but nothing special.Other people working there seemed pleasant. We never saw the bar being used, and it generally felt a bit tired. However the room was clean, a decent size, and the hotel was sited within easy walking distance of the main attractions.

The receptionist who checked us in was rude and unhelpful giving us a very bad impression of the hotel. Fortunately the manager checked with me the next day and from then on our stay was outstanding. With the exception of the first receptionist, we found the staff to be outstanding. I highly recommend them.

Short (6-hour) layover between flights. Were given the ‘handicapped room’. It wasn’t needed, but, that was what we were given. Not close to ADA specs. No turn-around area in room, only bathroom. No room for transfer from chair to bed, if needed. It was an all were bathroom, but the flooring was same as rest of flooring and extremely slippery when wet, and pretty much everything gets wet during shower. We only had a total of 5-1/2 hours for dining, shower and sleep before transfer to IS, and being next to the elevator and right off of reception was noisy. Attached restaurant was much better than expected. It is a hold and warm type kitchen, but the outcome was quite pleasant. Service was good.

Hotel was spotlessly clean and service throughout the hotel was excellent. The hotel was modern, new carpets and modern furnishings. Our room was excellent and the lift takes you up to each floor. The breakfast was superb, very large range of continental plus cooked food such as an English breakfast, the coffee out of the two machines was exceptional. The staff were always so helpful and very nice to chat to, also very knowledgeable. The hotel is 15 mins walk from metro Serdika and easy to find. The pavement before the hotel is uneven and at night it was quite dark so be aware but was very safe in the neighbourhood. Our favourite eaterie was Spaghetti Kitchen bar in Svetla, the food is to die for and cheap, two main meals plus dessert £25, also they catered very well for gluten free. Near the hotel is a local Billa supermarket which has a very comprehensive range of food and drink etc. Overall thankyou to the hotel for a fabulous stay.

My room was full of some dark butterflies. They seemed to have come out of the bathroom, so I had to change my room, the staff was good enough to give me another room, although there was also one butterfly in that room as well, I didn’t want to bother changing rooms as it seemed like it is the issue with the whole hotel and I had only 3 hours to sleep! Otherwise, good location and staff was good but definitely needs some bugs inspection!
