However, we visited in mid-October and were disappointed to find most nearby places already closed for the season. The hotel had only one restaurant open with limited options and very high prices (€162 for two pizzas and a bottle of rosé). We tried exploring Baia (20 minute walk) and Porto Cervo (10 minute taxi, costing €40 each way), but both were mostly shut down. Even online listings showed places as open, which was misleading. By Day 4, we decided to rent a car, which was more cost-effective than taxis. We had room service once for lunch, but most days we relied on the nearby supermarket (about a 5-minute walk). They had fresh rolls, meats, and cheeses, which we brought back to our room. It’s a real shame there wasn’t clearer communication about the seasonal closures. The area is stunning, and we would have loved to experience it at its best. Had we known, we definitely would have chosen a different time of year to visit!"
