"We visited San Antonio for Fiesta and a comedy show. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Fiesta and the bar area was fun and lively. We had a great time and the room and bed was so comfy, we did not want to leave! Very helpful and professional staff too! We will definitely come back!"

"The hotel was really nice! I liked that it was easy access to the river walk. I didn’t like how loud it got when the Spurs won you could hear horns honking and people screaming for close to two hours! This was around 11 pm that I was awaken to all the noise! We were on the 12th floor. Overall it was a pleasant experience!"

"This hotel is in a convenient location within walking distance to the Riverwalk. They offer onsite parking but failed to inform me at check-in that there would be a daily additional charge. The hotel staff was helpful in things such as getting extra towels, directions to services, and such. The daily breakfast was varied and plentiful in each item offered. The breakfast staff was very attentive with refilling foods and cleaning tables between guest use. Unfortunately, the rooms needed attention with more thorough cleaning between guests. Although the rooms were neat in appearance, they really needed additional cleaning - especially the bathrooms where there was obvious grime and odors in the toilet and tubs/showers. The carpets were very soiled and had a persistent wet odor. The air conditioner was very loud and could not be adjusted on the lower floors. And then there was the problem with pests (a nymph and a roach). Management was apologetic for the inconvenience and compensated me (us) a percentage for half a day and temporarily moved me (us) to a higher floor. They then moved me (us) again to a lower floor the night before I (we) left. Although I have always enjoyed previous stays at numerous La Quinta facilities, I cannot say in good conscience that this is a facility I can give a good review nor recommend anyone to stay there."

"The hotel is under new management and they have their work cut out for them. My room was by the broken elevator, which meant us two little old ladies (66 and 82) had to walk all the way around the building to get to an elevator to go down to the ground floor. We called housekeeping for items that we needed in our room and most of our requests got ignored. They did bring a new coffee maker when ours didn’t work and they changed out the blinking light bulb in the bathroom, but we had to go all the way down to the front desk to get coffee and cups. The Wi-Fi in our room did not work the whole time we were there. Although most of the staff was cordial and pleasant, they did not have enough people to get the job done. The restaurant is closed for renovations and the taco place only had one person working to serve breakfast to the 100 guests from our convention. When we checked out, they graciously gave us a discount on our over priced room, but we expected better from an historic landmark. Maybe I will go back when the renovations are finished and give it another chance."
