This place was probably 3star in 1970 but the lack of any maintenance in the last 52 years has not done it any good.
The staff was friendly enough, however, the experience started going downhill as we approached the entrance door to our area. The door functioned, but the top hinge was at least a full inch away from the wall. Opening it, revealed a very run down entrance way. We had a non-smoking room, but it was probably smoked in for 49 years, then painted over. There was some sort of scent applied to attempt to mask it, but it just made the smell of stale smoke even worse. Then, my wife went to use the bathroom and freaked out because the toilet rocked.
Upon inspection, it didn't leak, but there was about an inch of caulk around the base, I suspect used to try and stabilize it on a floor that is so uneven.
The wifi was pretty much non-existent. We got a faint intermittent signal but gave up. Luckily we didn't need it and used the wifi at the McDonalds across the street the next morning.
We arrived late and I didn't expect much because we decided to cheap out so I didn't make a fuss. Oddly enough, the bed was comfortable and clean which is all that we asked for. The shower worked and towels were clean so that is a good thing.
