"Complained 8 times about the noise. Our room was situated at the end of the corridor next to the service door. The housekeepers parked 3 trollies outside our door. The noise was incessant and relentless from 0615 until 1030 (banging/slamming/chatting/laughing) during which I went out and asked them to stop 4 times. The noise continued until late afternoon. I called reception and asked to speak to the duty manager. I was told 'there isn't one. It's a weekend'. We have both travelled professionally for over 20 years. This was the most disrespectful, rude and obnoxious noise we've experienced in our careers. Eventually somebody with authority stopped the noise at about 1700. Do not stay in any room ending -01/02/03/04. Front desk staff member who checked is out at midnight was also arrogant and rude (arguing with us) but the rest of the staff we encountered were brilliant. Other than that the hotel is lovely and would highly recommend based on food and decor. "

"This is a standard airport hotel with the great benefit of being accessible directly from within the airport building. It is also reasonably priced. The restaurant is good enough with a big well priced breakfast. Recommended if you have to overnight at the airport in Johannesburg."

"I specifically booked as have stayed at Raddison in Edinburgh and Cape Town. I messaged them 2 weeks in advance requesting Spa appts…as arriving on morning flight. The shuttle driver was super creepy, the reception staff made no effort to accommodate me, spa fully booked… turned out hotel eas barely occupied…when taken to my room??? Expecting a Radddison experience… I was dismayed to find a travel lodge box… thanks goes to reception on evening shift who “upgraded” me… Just felt conned. A hotel charging loads based on the quality of other places… unfair on consumer… I a"

"Pretty basic with absolutely no atmosphere. Staff were unhelpful and at times rude. Rooms (we had two) were clean but dated. Buffet dinner was ok, but I suffered from an upset stomach. Wouldn't recommend this hotel having stayed at the Protea (a MUCH nicer, welll decorated, modern hotel) for the same price on our return. "
