this hotel was completely closed and not open for business yet expedia booked me here, charged me, and left me in a city with NO LODGING for the night.
It was horrible. They took a deposit from my credit card without informing me. I got a text from my CC company and that’s how I found out. They charged extra for breakfast, parking. And the room didn’t have curtains for the shower. Additionally, I got put in the 5th floor and cleaning ppl weren’t supposed to bother you. Instead I got woken up at 8:30am with one of them knocking at my door and checkout wasn’t till 11am. Just ruined my day.
I have two major complaints about this hotel, and based on the other reviews, this is a continual problem. Housekeeping knocked on our door at 8 a.m. to see if we were checking out. Not acceptable. Not only were we on a "quiet" floor, but checkout isn't even until 11 a.m. All of my family members who were also staying there experienced the same thing. After reading a 2-year-old review by someone who experienced this also, it is inexcusable that this would continue to happen.
In addition, the alarm clock in the empty room next door started beeping loudly at 1:30 a.m. I had to call to the front desk and it was 10-15 minutes before someone came up to shut it off, and they didn't even apologize!
I made my reservation for my stay through hotels.com for the great rate and free night rewards. I chose to pay upon arrival to the hotel, as I often do for my business trips. The front desk staff cancelled my hotel.com reservation and checked me in as a walk in guest. I did not notice this initially until I went to use my free night for another trip and saw that I didn't have one. I called hotels.com to figure out the descepency and they called to investigate with the hotel while placing me on hold. The hotel told them that my credit card was declined and that I chose to cancel my reservation. Seems the staff, whether prompted or not, has figured out how to not pay hotels.com their fee. I did, in fact, stay 3 nights at the hotel and there was no mention of my credit card being declined at the time of check in. I also, somehow received a free breakfast voucher and am now getting emails from the crown plaza rewards program. I do commend hotels.com for investigating the matter but understand their hands are tied and it was the hotel who is to blame for being dishonest. If my stay here was better I would have considered not leaving this poor review. However, the rooms and lobby are extremely in need of an update. My colleague reserved a suite room for the kitchenette as we like to stay in and prepare meals occasionally. There were no utensils or dishes and old food in the refrigerator. I encountered a person urinating in the hall one evening. I did not feel safe in this hotel.
Property and comfort were fine, but traveling for business and the internet speeds were not up to par. Not even close. no paid upgrade available, and was unable to do any of my required business from inside the hotel.
Whole property is beautiful but they don't have water bottles in whole crown plaza building. Front desk personnel doesn't care to put efforts to get one just suggested to go to next building and get it from holiday inn.

Stamford
Huge Hotel attached to a Holiday Inn Express. Decor was dated. Lobby was a little weird. Service was excellent. Restaurant was good.
Good location and clean hotel...good amenities too and good price...very disappointed with service though overall and was additionally left at local train station waiting for shuttle (despite 2 calls to hotel and station only little over a mile away)...good experiences staying there in the past but service has definitely lapsed
Good. Paid more than I should have according to different websites, however, the breakfast was very good. Service is lacking do to some employees not quite understanding the language.
