Gora Kadan Fuji

Oyama

10/10 Excellent

The best part of our stay in Japan - our host was incredible and attentive to all our needs, even the smallest things. The room was immaculate and traditional - exactly what we wanted. Our dine-in room experience was very special and filling. Both the private and shared onsen facilities were incredibly clean and offered amazing views of Mount Fuji. Would recommend to anyone after a luxury Ryokan experience.

The Fujiya Hotel

Miyanoshita

10/10 Excellent

After being in Japan for 10days and staying in relatively modern hotels with small rooms, it was delightfully refreshing to be staying in a hotel where room space was more than adequate. Yes, the decor is old fashioned and may appear tired however the surroundings, the staff and the excellent service more than compensate. All staff spoke excellent English and could not do enough to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The "silver" service at breakfast is far above anything I have experienced before...

Kinnotake Tonosawa - Adult Only

Tounosawa

10/10 Excellent

Where can we start? The food was simply out of this world, both dinner and breakfast. They catered to a vegetarian and were very attentive. The room was amazing, spacious, with all kinds of amenities included, free drinks, tea and coffee, a Bluetooth speaker and of course a private osen on the balcony facing a bamboo forest. Everything was top-notch. We booked the pool/sauna downstairs, and that was fantastic, as well as the gym. We also enjoyed drinks at the bar, including the Japanese whiskey....

Hotel Okada

Yumoto

10/10 Excellent

Staying at Hakone Okada with my brother in late March was one of the highlights of our Japan trip. Our room overlooked a cherry‑blossom‑filled valley, and the view alone felt like something out of a painting. The private open‑air onsen attached to our room made it even better — soaking in the hot spring water while looking out over the sakura was unforgettable. The public onsen was just as impressive. As first‑time onsen visitors, we were a bit nervous, but the space was beautifully designed,...

Hotel Himalaya Sea

Ito

10/10 Excellent

A beautiful, yet very affordable hotel nestled in the coastal village of Usami. Extremely welcoming and helpful owner. Beautiful and well-appointed rooms, all of which overlook the sea. Small swimming pool, private and family onsens also available to use. Have stayed here twice during the week and was thoroughly relaxed throughout. I’ll be going back next year as well! It’s a hidden gem of a place.
