"We were told that check in was until 8pm, no exceptions. So we organized our entire day to ensure we were there by 8pm. An hour later, reception was checking in somebody else, so clearly exceptions were made for some, but not us. Didn't leave us with a good feeling. Location is not walking distance to any coffee shop (meaning 10 min walk or less). "Big room, gulf views. Pool looked amazing (though I didn’t swim). Bed was comfortable. Large buffet breakfast. Staff was very friendly. The neighborhood around the hotel is so-so, but you are along the beach esplanade, which makes for a lovely walk. You are 15 minutes by car to several interesting historical sites."
