This shot is taken just 3-5 minutes walk from the Longchuan river park of Shangbacun. The road/path is the main road of this small hillside village (the suburbs of Shangbacun?).

I find myself wondering how different is this alley compared to my childhood home in suburban Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. And all the people I meet on the road, how different are their thoughts to mine?

There are some days when I just wish I was a blade of grass swaying in the wind listening only to the whispers of the mitochondrial horde tweeting the afternoon away.
As you walk up the road from Shangbacun (actually talked to a local yesterday who said the name of the town is Shangmacun, but on Google maps it is Shangbacun), there are different roads shooting off into different areas all of which end up in dead ends of nowhere in particular...just my kind of place.

I don't know why I like to take pictures like this...something about the lines of perspective: the wall, road and forest converging into a point in the unknown distance. A winding earthy invitation to spend a little time with your thoughts.

I found myself in the last couple of days taking shots of corn because it is grown in all manner of ways. Here is a patch that reaches to the shoulder of the path. The corn has a nice view of China's urbanization efforts what with the new ring road(number 3 or 4...lost count) and yet another living complex.
