This lakeside town serves as the perfect gateway to Yala National Park's leopards, elephants, and sloth bears. Hire a local guide for bird watching at Tissa Lake, where painted storks and pelicans gather at sunrise.
An amazing hotel where every little detail is perfect! The staff go above and beyond to make everything extra special - we celebrated a birthday and they were amazing! The food is some of the best we had while in Sri Lanka and so varied. We wish we could have stayed longer!

I love this place and could have stayed longer. A clean swimming pool. A restaurant on site and we could eat any time. Staff were very accommodating. There was also a free jeep tour (offer tips) of the local area where I saw monkeys.
Wonderful!

Duty manager was extremely helpful throughout our stay.
It is fairly rural so it’s a bit of a walk to shops / restaurant or a short tuk tuk ride. Ideal location for visiting Yala NP.
The restaurant food was nice but quite pricy.

Checking in to the hotel was a little slow, however this was made up by the room we were upgraded to and the cake provided to celebrate my mum’s birthday.

Brilliant guest house, with pool! We saw langur monkeys whilst in the pool, huge bats flying off from the lake and a monitor lizard on the way back from lunch. The owner and his family were incredibly helpful and booked us a full day safari. We have done a few safaris and this was the best we have ever taken, the driver Tharusha and his assistant worked incredibly hard, had very good knowledge both of species and habitat which paid off as after waiting quietly for probably 40 minutes the...

We were welcomed in such a friendly manner by the hotel owner and his family. The hotel is in a lovely natural setting. We stayed in a deluxe room which would probably equate to a basic room in England. There were other more luxurious rooms if you wanted to spend more but the main thing for us was how friendly and helpful everyone was. The meals were delicious and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this place, whatever quality of room you require.

By far the most pleasant stay in Sri Lanka this far and considering the standard of hospitality in Sri Lanka this hotel was exceptional. The staff could not be more amazing. We stayed two nights and certainly wish we stayed longer. 10/ 10 would recommend

First of all,the staff were so welcoming and so attentive, the hotel itself is beautiful and very modern/simplistic,which is a style we liked very much. They organised the safari at Yala for us which was brilliant - only wish we had stayed longer - our favourite hotel in Sri Lanka

Lovely family run hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good restaurant and a wide choice of food. Bedroom spacious and we had a ground floor with a lovely verandah giving us a view over the paddy fields. The owner can organise safaris which saves a lot of hassle. We highly recommend this property.
