"No era para nada lo que se veía en las fotos. Llame 2 horas antes para avisar que llegaba y no respondían, no encontraba el hotel y seguía llamando y nada. "The place is big and comfortable, the shower is perfect - hot with good pressure. Breakfast is good - eggs, bread and jam, coca tea, coffee and juice. The staff are great and knowledgeable about tours and can arrange them for you . The only negative is that there are many neighbourhood dogs which are so noisy barking all night that I couldn't sleep well. Bring earplugs. The hotel is highly recommended."

"We loved staying here! We even extended our stay by 4 extra days/ Staff has been amazing and super helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good. "The Abuelo is a jewel of a hotel in the Callejón! Modern, clean and an amazing proprietor. All are helpful and eager to please. Located in the middle of Carhuaz, they can quickly get you the best guides and transport. The cook is fantastic; it thus is the best restaurant in town and one of the best in the Callejón. We travel a lot, are very fluent in Spanish and would rank it among the nicest rural hotels in Latin America!"
