"The rooms were clean but there were visible water damage on the ceilings. There was a fire alarm with an automated voice informing guests to remain in their rooms until further instructions were given. The hotel ataff also got on the PA system tp apologize for the inconvenience and to inform gueats rhat it was a false alarm. That was greatly appreciated. Also, the room doors would not close on their own so we had to pull/push it closed to ensure it was sealed. However, the staff was exceptional and were willing to assist with providing directions and recommendations. One gentlemen who was walking down rhe hallway with a laundry basketnoticed that we had not closed the door completely when leaving and called after us to notify us to close it. He warmly greeted my son with a good morning young man! This pleasantly surprised us since in a world where young black men are viewed in a bad light, this was respect in action. Being a native South Philadelphian vacationing in Philly with my family, it was refreshing for them to experience what I have always known about my city. The staff at this hotel take the phrase City of Brotherly Love to heart and demonstrate it in their concierge level customer service delivery to their guests. With much gratitude, needless to say, we will be returning to this hotel when next we visit Philly."
