"This was the second time we stayed in this hotel. This time we were in the older section.
We were disappointed with the room. First was the toilet seat was broken. The shower has a half of a door, so when you take a shower, you flood the bathroom floor. The A/C system was very loud; the room was dark as we had to keep the curtains closed so we could have some privacy with all of the people walking by the room and we did not want them looking in our room. My wife said that one of the beds smelled like urine. The floor was half carpet and half vinyl with a dividing strip that when walking bare foot, it felt like stepping on something sharp. There were not enough outlets in the room and the one that were there you had to look at the bottom of the lamps for them as there were none on the walls for us to charge our devices and for me to use my cpap machine."
"We would come back, staff were helpful and owners seem to care about guests.
Smaller resort, and it could use a facelift (pool needs to be fixed), however overall - we had a great time and enjoyed the private beach. Room was very clean and AC worked perfect."
"I am a light sleeper, and I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet the room was given that the hotel was full. The sheets/bedding/pillows were also nicer than I expected. The room itself was large and had a refrigerator, which was nice. The daily breakfast was standard - eggs, bacon waffles, bagels, yogurt, cereal, toast, muffins, tea, coffee, juice. It wasn't great, but it worked. We stayed here while attending the Ohana festival at the Tiki conference center, and it was about a 10 minute walk each way between the resorts. The brewery is also within walking distance. It's about a 15 minute walk. There were sidewalks on both sides of the road as well as several pedestrian crossings, where a trolley stops periodically going to central/downtown Lake George. We didn't use the pool, but it looked nice and outside there were tables with umbrellas next to the pool. Overall, the hotel was nice and the staff were friendly and helpful."
"Just did an overnight in Lake George. Howard Johnson’s hotel is always a budget friendly stay and is nice because it’s right in the middle of town so you don’t have to drive anywhere."
