One of the most amazing hotels - unique and beautiful. The staff go beyond to make your stay pleasant, the rooms are incredible. Being able to sleep at the foot of a vulcano in the midst of an animal sanctuary is a dream. Only down side is the a la carte breakfast which considering it was more than $65 for three could have been improved.

Lovely boutique-style built run hotel. Everything is exactly as described and pictured. We only stayed a night to break a long journey prior to flying out of SJO the following afternoon, but there's plenty to do in the area and it would make a great base if staying a little longer. Very comfortable beds, it was one of our best nights sleep of our trip! We had dinner in Alajuela, about 10 mins drive away with loads of choice, and went back to the town to kill a couple of hours the next day...

A fantastic location just outside San Jose, which made for a superb location first few days in Costa Rico. Close to Poas volcanoe La Paz waterfalls and the fantastic Cinchona waterfall trails. Staff absolutely first class; warm welcome and extremely helpful. One bag failed to arrive with oyr party - staff so helpful to ensure airline delivered to chalets within 36 hours.

Breakfast was included which we did not expect - thank you for everything!

A friendly welcome and very helpful staff. Super clean and quiet room with comfortable beds and nice garden area. Beautiful gardens and delightful area for a wonderful breakfast.

I had an excellent stay at the Canal Grande Lodge. The staff were wonderful, really friendly and helpful and the hotel was spotless with large spacious rooms. It also had a lovely outdoor space with a pool and amazing views. A good option for those who are looking to stay close to San Jose airport but away from the busy streets of San Jose.

The location is beautiful, safe, and picturesque. Breakfast was delicious, with something slightly different each day, and it was delivered right to our chalet. I stayed for 4 nights with my two teenage kids, and they absolutely loved the cosy look and feel of the chalet. Since it’s a mountain area, the mornings and evenings can get quite chilly, and rain can come at any time. Thankfully, the electric heated mattresses kept us warm and comfortable. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and lots of...

Perfect first night hotel after a long flight. The hotel arranged an airport pick up for us. The room was very comfortable. All the staff were friendly & helpful. Food at the restaurant was great and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent staff, lovely location and spa treatment. Fantastic views.

Great family room. Comfy beds. Lovely breakfast and helpful staff.

Really beautiful property and grounds, lovely clean and comfortable room, amazing food at dinner, would highly recommend.

החדר היה נקי ומסודר. בעלת הבית ויקי עזרה בכל מה שביקשנו .וענתה מייד . הקשר איתה היה מצויין

Helpful friendly staff, good food, clean and well equipped rooms and superb gardens with a host of birds. Can't fault it.

This is a lovely hotel with beautiful surroundings. Close enough to central San Jose and the hotel staff are very good at recommending a good route to walk to see all that San Jose has to offer. Really lovely restaurant. Thoroughly recommended

Very clean, located close to airport and city mall is walking distance with food options. Cozy rooms, adequate parking if you rented a car. Helpful staff.

Massive room which was perfectly clean. Great location, handy to the airport. In the grounds of the hotel there are a number of shops and an excellent outdoor area which had comfortable seating, nice music and lots of really good quality food trucks offering everything from Thai to Indian to Cuban and more. Highly recommended for a relaxing evening with good food. Breakfast at AC is great but make sure you book with your room as it’s very expensive to pay at breakfast. Around £30 per person...
