This recently renovated flat is in a good location. It is close to the center of Varenna with nearby shops and restaurants and the villa.
The picture shown was not the flat we stayed in so we were disappointed. We stayed below the one shown in the picture. Our flat did not a a table and chairs outside.
The flat entrance is in the middle of two buildings with a stairway in the middle. The front of the flat looks out over the stairway area.
Just below our flat there is a nice man who sells fish, I believe it is a wholesale business because there are no customers arriving and buying fish. We saw him every morning, preparing fish that I believe he sold to the local restaurants. His ventilation system from the business is located in the stairway area so there is always the smell of fish in that area.
You cannot open the windows in the flat without smelling the fish.
The only other problem we had was the shower. It leaked all over the floor in the bathroom every time we used it. The host was responsive to our requests and they brought extra towels to clean up the floor. They said it would be fixed after we left.
Aside from the fish smell and the flooded bathroom, we enjoyed our stay.
