We paid a budget price so were not expecting luxury, however there were lots of very basic issues with the house.
The place was very musty on arrival and it seemed as if it hadn’t been opened up for a long time. The smell also pervaded the kitchen cupboards so I had to wash every item of crockery and cutlery before we could use it. Not that there was a lot of crockery - only side plates and tapas dishes. Only half of the toaster worked, there were many light fittings without bulbs, we had 4 large towels and 6 pillows for 7 guests - to be fair more towels were delivered when we asked for them. Some beds had quilts on them, some just sheets/quilt covers.
As the weekend went on the place smelt fresher, I cleaned out most of the cupboards so they are much cleaner, as are the wardrobes. I also weeded the path and swept the steps so outside looks much more welcoming and tidy now. This took minutes and could have easily been done by the owner while they were waiting for us to arrive.
That said, we survived, the area was lovely and welcoming and Vallromanes was perfect for getting to the Circuit de Cataluyna.
