We arrived a day early after getting confused with our days and rang Sandie the Owner, she got in her car and drove straight over, giving us a warm welcome and managing to accommodate us. Room was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice surroundings.

A remarkable place to stay. As a hotel it does have it's limitations- light and soundproofing are both quite poor. However the bed was very comfy, the WiFi was decent, the bathrooms were very clean and the shower was good. Decent continental breakfast. Very friendly staff. The main reason for staying here is to experience this historic building and the stories it has to tell. From that point of view it is amazing. So no it isn't the most luxurious place I've ever stayed but it might well be...

We loved the garden which is unique to a city hotel. Very airey and spacious hotel, with different areas to relax. Part of the hotel has a museum collection for World War 1, which is very interesting. Staff very attentive and pleasant.

The host (Ann) was absolutely brilliant throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was excellent and the location gives you convenient access to destinations.

A lovely place to stay just two minutes walk from the square which is we’re all the shops and restaurants and bars are the room was lovely and clean bed are really clean and comfortable 10 minutes drive to lpres were we wanted to go to the menen gate and war graveyard and museums all in all a great place

We stayed here for 3 nights in January 2015 as an "add on" to meeting family and friends in Bruges. The reception staff were friendly and our check in was quick and efficient. We were in room 107 which was huge by hotel standards ( twice the size of our room at the Bruges Crowne Plaza and about half the price! ) we had the most comfortable hotel bed we'd slept in for many years, and there were additional pillows and bed linen if required. It was excellent for a 2 day stay being 5 minute drive from Ypres.

Spotlessly clean, very friendly, helpful staff and the perfect location for the centre of Ypres.

A truly lovely hotel that happened, as we had hoped, to serve our requirements perfectly. That is, very close, 300yards, from the Menin Gate and, of course, from the beautiful City square with its historic Cloth Hall and magnificent Churches. The architecture is just spellbinding. Can hardly wait to go back in 2020. This peaceful hotel was very much the icing on the Christmas Cake!

We really enjoyed our stay in the heart of Ypres. The Menin Gate was viewed from our property and attending the Last Post ceremony just outside our door was a truly memorable experience. The accommodation is spacious, modern and very comfortable. It was the ideal place for exploring Ypres and the surrounding battlefields.

Very pleasant stay. Veurne is a lovely city which is just off the motorway about 30 mins from Dunkirk. Near to Chanel ports and the seaside. The Hotel (formerly known as 'The Old House' ) is a grand building tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. There are two entrances - front and rear. Parking is available only at the front. Owner/manager very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast good as continental breakfast. Would recommend
