Tref Eilian Sheltered Housing Estate Tref Eilian means "Eilian's town". The mountain in the background, marked on the OS map as Moel Eilio, is called locally Moel Eilian.

Country lane Today, this narrow, dead-end, road forms an access road to scattered houses and farms on the eastern side of the middle Gwyrfai valley. In the past, it also served a number of minor slate quarries as well as the Moel Eilio iron ore mine.

It's a very nice quiet picturesque place in the countryside. The accommodation was excellent, it was very clean and comfortable with plenty of room for four people.We even had peacocks to keep us company. I can certainly recommend Conway Valley cottages.
