Historian Inn
8/10 Good
"They have coffee available in the morning in the office, but the last time we were there they had donuts also, which they did not have this time. I saw in the shower that there was a shampoo and soap dispenser so I didn’t bring any into the shower with me only to find that the dispenser was completely empty, the dispenser should be removed if it’s not going to be refilled. Lastly there were a bunch of ants in the bathroom this morning, shudder! These are relatively minor complaints, overall it was a good stay, and the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful."
Virginia Creek Settlement
8/10 Good
"We stayed in one of the motel rooms which were very clean. The property is very cute and we would stay again. There was a heater problem but they got someone right on it. Wifi was great. My only complaint is that the motel walls are paper thin, so next time we will splurge for a stand-alone cabin."
Quality Inn & Suites Minden

Redwood Motel
8/10 Good
"Nice, simple, small. Could use more than two pillows. Mattress needs an upgrade. I woke up with a sore back after each night."
The Bodie Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Clean, air and heat, easy parking. Charming hotel built in the 1800’s. Very cool stories about the hotel."
Desolation Hotel Hope Valley
8/10 Good
"We were here maybe 15 yrs. ago and the rooms were definitely more rustic. The updated rooms are simple, clean and cozy. The full and efficient kitchen was fine to make a nice dinner. The resort was winding down for the season and staff minimal and in late September the restaurant was closed so it was best to p/u food for breakfast and dinner. Minimal problems included the thermostatically controlled small gas fireplace that was somewhat erratic; sometimes the fan was too noisy at night. During the day the traffic noise made it difficult to enjoy the beautiful grounds, but quiet at night. Overall worth the stay to enjoy beautiful Hope Valley and trails on the property!"
Walker River Lodge
