"Will not be staying here again in the near future. Don't let the promo pic on this site of the lobby fool you. It is very run down now. Used to stay here once/twice a year while at horse events at the KY Horse Park - maybe 7-8 years ago and thought we'd come back as having the doors open to the outside is so easy and parking is great. But now this year, I booked a non-smoking room - but it smelled like a dirty ashtray from other people smoking in the room and the sheets were clean we think - but stained with ink and other "things", the bathroom floor hasn't been cleaned for a long time, the tub had smudged stains, the walls were literally dirty like a greasy mechanic rubbed their hands on the doors and a few places on the walls, the air conditioner kind of worked, the beds are more of a futon mattress. However, the best feature was amazingly great water pressure in the shower ! We are home now, and my clothes all smell like I was out at a smokey bar all night. So sad to see this long time local value hotel with a great location get run down - feels kind of sketch ghetto now. Be sure to lock you vehicle and room doors if you stay there!! I do want to add, the front desk lady with the beautiful piercings was so nice and welcoming - she was the best thing about our stay there!! "

"The AC in my room was not working properly. Luckily it was not super hot, but I like it cool at night and even though it was turned all the way down to 60 it did not come on at all and I didn’t realize it till the second night there so it was not comfortable for me at night while I was sleeping. The restaurant was understaffed and service was very slow."

"The Elwood was okay for one night. Not sure I'd stay longer than that. Our TV only got a few channels and we weren't able to stream anything despite being told we could. The front desk wasn't helpful when we called with the concern. Our room phone also didn't work to reach the front desk so we had to use our cell phones. The bed was comfortable and the temp in the room was pleasant. The bathroom is tiny but there are some shelves outside the bathroom to store your belongings. Water pressure wasn't good in the sink but the shower was okay. We tried the restaurant on site for brunch. It was tasty and the ambience was good. Liked the outside area with ceramic fire places. Overall it's one of the better places I've stayed in Lexington but in general it's nothing over the top. It's a good safe place to stay for a night."

"Newly renovated...and looks amazing. We've been staying here for many years and have mostly been pleased, but this weekend stay was awesome. Rooms renovated, lobby, breakfast and bar area, etc. We'll be back...again!"

"The room was clean and the hotel was lovely. Good location with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was a plus! Parking fees were the only bummer. Had no choice but to pay given the only other option was to park in the street. This was a consequence of staying downtown. "
