"Was a perfect accommodation for a lone traveller on the road selling to retail stores. My brand Old Guys Rule has to travel from time to time to make sure that our retailers are happy. Bedroom was inside and didn’t have windows but had a big doorway so that was okay"

"Great stay! Room was clean and the mattress was one of the most comfortable I’ve stayed on (I travel a fair bit). AC worked very well and flowed into both rooms. Pool is not heated, large spa was great but overcrowded by unsupervised children."

"We loved staying here -- it has lots of room for a family of four and my son didn't want to leave! Located in the town center of Nelson Bay, it is also only a few minutes' walk to Woolworths and the other shops. Our apartment was nice and clean and had a good ambience. Furniture had a little wear and tear, but it was acceptable. Rooms were of a good size and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was very large and had everything we needed. We had a laundry and an ensuite which was very nice. Check-in was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. A couple of downsides: the wifi was very slow and in fact failed one evening and the wifi network seemed to drop out of existence! Secondly, because it's a pool view apartment, we got a bit of noise from the activity in the pool - these are both minor complaints though as the pool is closed before it gets too late and we have our mobile phones for internet anyway. Overall, it was a great place to stay and we will stay here again next time we're in Nelson Bay. I can recommend it."

"The same thing I dont like everytime at this hotel is also the only thing I ever have to complain about @ The Gateway Inn... & thats when I have to leave. (Sad Face) I just love this place, the staff are so wonderful & are always happy to go the extra mile yet so modestly & kindly make you feel like nothing is a bother or too much to accomodate in their efforts to show that you're valued as a customer & feel welcomed like a family friend. The vibe is like a big safe warm hug. The rooms provided are generous in space, ameneties are varied & top notch & the customer service extended is of international standards. And No I wasn't promised anything to say all these great things about the Gateway, but Ive tried the rest & dont even have to guess you'll be impressed- by the Best Hotel in town!!"
