Stunning Grand Hotel quality for a fraction of 5Star price. Just NOT to look for it on DiDi by name, only by address: Avatar Valley Grand Hotel is actually “ Zhangjiajie Country Garden Phoenix Hotel” We had luck with a friendly DiDi driver that helped us and called their local number to verify location. Breakfast buffet room looks like an Opera House. Swimming Pools are huge. Not crowded at all for the 1400 rooms available. Late August, maybe seeemed maybe 10% occupied. Amazingly helpful Staff with perfect English communication. Great onsite restaurant with traditional local and Western menu options.

La piscine intérieure est bien chauffée et très propre. Ce que nous avons aimé, c’est qu’elle n’est jamais bondée. On pouvait nager tranquillement sans devoir se frayer un chemin parmi les gens. Il y a aussi des espaces de repos autour pour se détendre après la baignade.

Le principal inconvénient : l’établissement est assez excentré. Sans voiture, il est compliqué de se rendre rapidement dans les centres touristiques ou les restaurants du village. De plus, aux heures d’affluence, le service au restaurant peut être un peu lent. Malgré cela, c’est un endroit formidable pour un séjour détente en pleine nature.

Le petit-déjeuner est servi dans une grande salle avec d’immenses baies vitrées sur les montagnes. Le choix est varié, avec des plats occidentaux et des spécialités locales. Le personnel est poli et attentif, le majordome nous a fourni des indications utiles pour organiser nos visites.

Le service est vraiment attentionné. Le majordome nous a donné plein de conseils pour nos itinéraires et même des astuces pour prendre les taxis. Quand on est partis, ils nous ont même préparé des bouteilles d’eau pour la route — petit geste, mais très sympa.
