"I love the place, really! But the staff and breakfast was disappointing. I wanted to have a Cappuccino and she told me that she was alone and the other will come at 10 am. But she has time to play with her mobile phone all the time. Well, it was breakfast time. Suppose to have Tea and any kind of coffee ready during the time. But the property is awesome. Quite and antique."

"If you’re used to a certain accommodation standard when travelling, this place is not for u. I paid $40 a night and I got a nice room, clean bed, 2 bottles of water everyday, fried rice and tea sent to my room, wifi and hot shower. What I wished it had was a dead bolt for the door and a kettle for hot water. There’s a night club right behind but the noise didn’t bother me. The area can be very dark at night."

"Gopalan has a lovely location with views out over rice fields. The rooms are clean and well-appointed, but there were small gaps between walls and door frames/ windows whicj some might find disconcerting - rustic charm is more accurate. There's a bit of a water shortage in the area at the moment, though I dont think the locals want to mention it but we had to contact reception twice to let them know we had no water. "Great hotel in great location in Jakarta, easy access to Grand Indonesia. Rooms are clean and spacious. However, service and maintenance need to be looked after especially during peak season. We had to make several calls before an extra towel was delivered. The dryer in one of our rooms did not work, the ac on the other room was not cold just because the filter was clogged. But afterall, stay at Ascott Jakarta is always pleasant, especially during the Idul Fitri Holiday."

For a night it's ok, restaurant too expensive.
"Staff was friendly. Check-in and check-out takes way too long. Long distances to walk to the room, no elevator. That was hard for my pregnant wife. Rooms less fancy than on the pictures. Restaurant quite expensice, in particular for what you get. niy portion and tasteless. Nasi with prawn includes 2 prawns and tasteless nasi. Beverage even too expensive. Unfortunately there's no restorant outside close to the hotel, so you're dependend on the hotel restaurant. Shop in the hotel closes at 8pm already. Pool are is ok, but playing depressive music, so not really funny. No chairs to sit in the lobby area, so while waiting for the shuttle service, you have to stand or sitting on the floor. "
