A relatively new property. Very clean with attentive staff. Only downside was the room doors are on the heavy side, therefore when it’s closing which makes a “boom” sound which woke me up several time during the nights and in the mornings.

Nice Hotel but Check-in Issues
Awful experience at check-in that helped to spoil the start of a family Christmas weekend in London. Room for check-in was not ready at 7pm ! Not something you need after a 4 hour drive and a tired 2 year old! No apology, no offer to upgrade or any sort of compensation, not even a drink in the bar plus generally unhelpful front desk staff with attitudes...it was a pity because room was nice and hotel itself is very nice and conveniently located. Thankfully great staff at Hotels.com stepped in to help make things right - well done Hotels.com!

Extremely disappointing
Extremely disappointing. Rooms are great and food is always good, but service was extremely disappointing. They couldn't guarantee an early check-in, understandable, so we added one extra night to the booking to ensure room would be ready. I messaged on the week to reconfirm this, called on the day before arrival, called on my way from the airport. When arrived, we were told we had to wait for our room to be cleaned? So why did I pay for extra night? They then gave us a key to a room that was occupied. Frustrating. Staff went downstairs to get correct keys and forgot. After 20 minutes, my luggage is coming but I still don't have the keys to the room. I asked 4 different employees if the terrace was open, they all said they didn't know and didn't try to find out or anything. Staff kept using their phones and chatting and we had to grab their attention anytime we wanted to order a drink or food. They also tried to charge us for a airport car that we waited for and never arrived.

Disappointed
I've stayed here before but this time it was obvious why this doesn't qualify as one of the top hotels in London. Upon check-in I was told what time breakfast is and the next morning I enjoyed a classic Nobu breakfast as well as the buffet. Came back the next morning but this time I'm told breakfast is not included. I was sure I had booked accommodation including breakfast but mistakes have happened before so I asked if I can just have some vegetables along with my Japanese omelette which I would pay for of course. The person who seated me, with a serious look on her face tells me if I take anything from the buffet they need to charge an additional 25 GBP. I excused myself, went down to reception to explain the situation and the lady at the front desk just says breakfast is not included and couldn't explain why they didn't charge me the previous morning. When I politely questioned this, another staff member next to her starts laughing at me. The fact that she could do so just shows what standard they have at this hotel. I mean, imagine if they would have laughed at their guests at for example Rosewood, Dorchester or any other hotel of that standard. But I suppose you get what you pay for. Fortunately there are plenty other great hotels in London I can choose from next time.

Rooms not sound proofed
Great hotel, but not soundproofed at all. If you need a sound sleep this is not the place. We heard people above us walking, talking, flushing the toilet, and outside the room people walking elevator pinging. I'm quite surprised how noisy it was and they didn't seem to care to give us a another room. Not sleeping well really affected my trip.

The property is well-positioned. The rooms are comfortable, well-lit, and spacious. The junior suite is just a bigger room. The room is open to lounge, so there is no privacy.

We arrived at a very busy Nobu Hotel quite early & were immediately greeted & served by the excellent staff, especially Gema Cantos who not only checked us in early but also made our entire stay simply wonderful! She’s a true gem!! The Nobu at Portman Square is a perfect choice if you cherish pristine rooms, wonderful food, and very friendly & helpful staff. Plus its location is premium! Make Nobu part of your next London experience!!
