"Overall it was a great experience. I believe his name was Brian, he checked us in and he was wonderful. Super helpful and friendly. We asked for a crib for our daughter. It was in the room super quick. The warm cookies were wonderful, my daughter enjoyed it. The only 2 things i would mention that could improve were the water pressure in the shower is super low. It took a while to fill up the tub for my daughter’s bath. And the second which is not really a big deal but the rail on one of the crib kept falling down. My daughter kept crawling out through there."

"Nightly charge for parking needs to be called out clearly in the booking process. No matter how good the property is, if I arrive and it's the first I hear of a parking charge, I will write negatively about the property and will not return."

"Very nicely maintained older hotel. Good value and back to basics. A bit noisy until 10pm around the pool, but to be expected. Room was surprisingly nice as was mattress."

"Staff was amazing and so friendly and helpful. The beds weren’t the most comfortable (too firm for us) but other than that the room was nice and comfortable. Plenty of parking spots. The back building elevator needs an inspection "

"The hotel was so convenient and close to stores and other hotels for my conference. Staff were very helpful. The only negative thing was that the advertisement stated that parking was included and I paid $38 per night which it seems to me deceiving. I feel that the savings I had was added to the parking not really a deal."

"Front desk in the evening was very rude and not helpful. I was given a room with 2 holes in the front door. Refrigerator didnt work, kights didnt come on. Had to switch rooms twice."

"It’s my first time in San Diego and I am so glad I chose this hotel! The staff here are amazing and helpful! My luggage was delayed but the staff here helped receive it. They are kind and warm. Will recommend to friends!"

"I love the amenities of The Lafayette such as the Lobby Bar, Diner, the pool and the room decor is so fun. However, it’s not the best hotel if you want to get a good night’s sleep. Since many of the guests are partying in the hotel, there is noise going on well after 2 A.M. On my floor, there were doors slamming every 5 minutes and the vents in the bathroom were oddly projecting loud conversations from people in other rooms. Definitely the worst hotel experience I’ve had in terms of noise from the surrounding rooms. I got absolutely no sleep, which was a bummer. I wish the hotel had designated quiet hours for people to follow. If you’re okay with the noise, it’s an amazing hotel!"
