We arrived at 9:15 pm and there was NO EMPLOYEE on site. A guest informed us that the housekeeper had left after 36 hours on the job! Needless to say, we could not check in -- We need our money back !! Days Inn, Wyndham and Expedia need to do a better job of allowing this type of action to occur. The police said is was now the 'drug' motel of Alexandria.

We rode our bikes 77 miles and we got there there was a sign on the door saying the hotel was closed by the health department. No notification until 8 at night. We had already booked it with hotels.com and was charged for it so now I'm in the process of trying to get a refund.

We arrived on 7/23/21. There was a sign on the door at check in time stating that they were understaffed and to return at 6 p.m. to check in. When we arrived at 6 p.m., there was a sign on the door stating the hotel was "closed". We were able to book our room but only the first floor had been cleaned. The lady who checked us in stated that they staff had all quit and she would check in people for the next half hour and then was locking the door. She showed us where to get more towels and toilet paper. There was no staff there the entire night. People trashed the front desk area and there were empty booze bottles laying around. We had no other choice but to stay there on 7/23 as there were NO other rooms available at any other hotel. We packed up and left Saturday morning, there was still no staff. On our way out of town on Sunday morning, we stopped hoping to get our money back. The door was still locked. I called yesterday, 7/25, and received no answer so I am guess that there continued to be no staff. On top of that, the hotel was old, dirty, and honestly disgusting even if we wouldn't have had the above issues....

We stayed at Days Inn, July 19-24, 2021. On July 24, no one was working: no office personnel to check us out and no house keepers to get clean towels on July 23. It was reported that high school student in the office game free rooms to those with reservations on July 23. People told us the mornng of July 24 the rooms they stayed in were not cleaned and ople told us when they came to check in on July 23 tall r We contacted Expedia for an explanation and they said they could not help us and sent us to Days Inn. We thought they would have at least tried to find out about this location! No help from Days Inn, said help quite and they were closing the facility down.

Hotel was closed due to no staff - or so said the piece of paper taped to the front door. Appeared that it had been closed for a while as there were only a few cars in the lot. No advance notice given about the closure and others who arrived at the same time we did had no idea of the closure either. Our reservations were made approx. 3 weeks in advance. We were very upset as a class reunion we were looking forward to attend had to be cut very short and we were forced to change clothes in a gas statin rest room and then try to find lodging for the night. Due to the late discovery all hotels within a 75 mile radius were booked (rural area not a lot of options). We had to drive 100 miles (direction we were headed next day) to find lodging. Seems that Days Inn (Wyndham) and or Expedia should have notified the people with reservations about the closure instead of customers discovering on their when they arrive. As stated earlier it appears the hotel had been closed for a while (weeks?) due to some of the conditions noted by myself and others who were unable to stay there.

The staff walked out so we were not able to check on the hotel. Everything in the surrounding area was booked. We had no place to stay, I have a toddler!

We rented two rooms. My daughter and I stayed in one room and my husband came back later from the wedding but the other room was not cleaned and there was nobody at the desk. We obviously will be looking for a refund for the second room.

It is a terrible hotel I have ever stayed in. Everything was dirty. DaysInn you should be ashamed for this place. The hot tub wasn't working nither was as the pool. Such a awful hotel!

Bed was horrible sounded like the springs were broken. Room not very clean. This is the second time we have stayed at a Days Inn in different locations that conditions were like this. Will probably steer clear of any Days Inn in the future.

We did not have a good experience. We tried to check in after 9 PM. Room wasn’t ready. We were given different room. It wasn’t ready either. Very noisy and messy around outside of hotel.

The entire hotel needs to either be torn down and rebuilt or a total renovation. I'd think the Day's Inn Corp would be ahshamed of this property.

The worst hotel I’ve ever made a reservation at
This is a terrible hotel that everyone should stay away from. Dirty and out of place everything, poor and irresponsible management and bad service. The room we were assigned to was not cleaned after the previous guest. We asked for another room but they didn’t have any and didn’t bother to clean the room for us. We had to sleep in our car since there were no other hotel room available in the area we were at. Hotels.com customer service was not able to help us either and let us down let alone the hotel management who were standing in front of the hotel smoking rather than attending to guests.

This is a poorly maintained hotel. Here are just a few of the issues: - None of the outside doors were able to be locked - the corridors smelled like cigarette smoke - the curtain rod in the room was falling down - the toilet was not flushed when we checked in We had a 2 night stay booked and left after the first night.

The hotel is so convenient to shopping, restaurants and is easy to find off the freeway. I was here about 4 or 5 years ago which is why I returned. I'm sure the pandemic had something to do with it - no coffee or treats for morning. The sheets and pillow cases on one bed didn't look fresh. Then there was the litter on the grounds and in parking lot, a pile of discarded stuff, and weeds in the front. All of this would be easy for the staff to pick up - staff looked less than interested although I did get extra towels when requested them. Did not present a professional, welcoming atmosphere. Maybe because the front staff also had to do the cleaning so why dress up if you are also going to be the maid?? I don't know, I do know how easy it is to pick up litter and pull or whack down weeds to make a hotel look like you care about your company and are proud to work there. Definitely some improvements to be made here - simple ones, too. Next time I'm in Alex I may not stay there, but I will be checking out to see if those changes have been made.

Tired Hotel needing some TLC
This hotel is starting to show its age. Hallway walls are chipped/torn and the carpet is stained. Bathroom ceiling tiles are broken and water stained. Room trim needs to be cleaned and painted. The chair in our room was stained and needed to be cleaned. The breakfast is fine...Jimmy Dean egg sandwich, rolls, yogurt and OJ. Good location near many fast food choices, Target and Walmart.

Besides the friendliness of the front staff, this place is a disaster. Pool not functioning, stains on carpet, smells, broken doors, towel racks, refrigerator on a ottoman, falling ceiling tiles, toliet paper stuffed in the vents. Broken desks, chair about to fall apart, missing panels on the dresser. We personally had to wipe down the walls and chairs for stains. Completely gross, our other guests had double booked rooms and walked in on other people. We were stuck since there were no vacancies close. Siding falling off the outside, cigarette butts and mini liquor bottles in the parking lot along with a broken down old camper in the back log plugged in! We had several parties there staying and all had issues. Completely wish we could have found somewhere else. The building really has had no maintenance for a long time and everything is very beat up. Me all slept with our clothes on due to the rooms being so dirty. The poor staff looks overworked and can only handle so much. We feel for them but there is no way the rooms are cleaned adequately. I’ve never paid that much for a room that dissatisfied our group and family so much. The place needs to be condemned and not open for business until rebuilt!

The front desk staff was slow and didn’t even greet us. He handed us keys to s a dirty room that smelled of perfume so strong it burned my throat. The room was not vacuumed and the mirror was smeared with something. Another man had just come to the desk complaining of a similar issue. The beds had been slept in and not changed over. Many rooms were still being changed and it was already 6 pm. Check in is 3 pm. They didn’t have coffee pots in the rooms and they had no coffee or breakfast as per the website. The pool hadn’t been cleaned in months as per the morning staff.

This building is run down, in dire need of updating and it’s filthy. I have never stayed in such a dump. Wyndham should check into this place because it doesn’t live up to their name or reputation. I lifted the bed skirt to check for bed bugs and there was garbage under there. The lampshade actually had blood on it. I took photos of everything.

This was hands down the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Do not go here!! The pool was closed, there wasn’t any free breakfast as advertised, the rooms smelled like weed and cigarettes, the carpets were so stained and dirty we never once took our shoes off, the door was busted, many things were in disrepair, the list goes on and on. I was so sad to make my kids stay here, it was awful. This place needs to be condemned.

Staff was friendly. Room door stuck so hard to open and close. Spot stains on the floor. Carpet just felt dirty walking on it. Pool cold and in need of chemicals I think. Beds comfortable. Half eaten candy that we didn’t bring found under bed by kids.

I do hear your suggestions for improvement and I apologize if you did not feel that our housekeeping met your own standards of cleanliness, though our own standards are very high and include checking up to ensure that rooms are as clean as can be. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $ and stay ANYWHERE else. Let’s just say I might place a call to the health inspector.

Front desk gave my room to the person checking in right in front of me. Then he gave me the same room and told me to kick those people out. We had to use dirty pillowcases. No breakfast, not even coffee available. Terrible. Never ever staying here again.

Was ok but microwave did not work, fire detecter was open or broke?? Hallways were a tad smelly but our room was good

Don't stay here.
This was the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel, I feel bad because the owner clearly has health problems but there was no staff at this hotel and amenities listed were not provided. We had to wait 3 hours after checkin time for our room to be booked into an occupied room then our keys didn't work for our room, go down to get new keys to be told they checked someone else into our room! Not the safest feeling. Would not stay there again. Didn't have hot water for bath or shower either.... warm but not hot and then wavering on the cool line.

The man at the front desk should not have been alone, he could barely stand up! Very hard to understand! Our room the bathroom door didn’t shut! The window was open and air on to cover some smell?? Parking lot was terrible alcohol containers, a camper plugged in chairs just sitting around! Will not stay there again!

Was told we could do early check in. Got there and the guy said it wouldn’t be ready for a couple hours, but then checked and said our room was actually ready. There was long black hair hanging from the towels in the bathroom and the fitted sheet on the bed was inside out and not all the way on.

Sketchy staff and guests
Front desk staff look like bums and had 3 people behind the desk. None dressed like employees and it was mid afternoon so no idea why there were that many people hanging out. TV’s don’t work in a lot of rooms and they didn’t seem anxious to fix it. Looks like an extended stay hotel with old people playing cards in the lobby and people on the lower floor propping a door open, having windows open, and handing stuff back and forth.

The hotel doors were broken. There appears to be an entire group of homeless people living in the parking lot and using the hotel facilities. It felt very unsafe.

The front desk was excellent. The rest of the hotel was terrible. The hallways reeked of cigarette smoke. The pillows and the comforters smelled. There was hair all over the counters, as well as in the showers. I would be hard pressed to return to a Day's Inn. I regret ever booking the room, it was awful.

The staff was over all friendly. They listed the o each concern, however. Tv never really worked until early morning. The air conditioner wasn’t good or running very much at all even on the lowest setting it still didn’t push out cold air. Noisy hallways, ans out perimeter . They put me in a dirty room & housekeeping had to clean it as we stood there.

The staff were never present at the reception area the staff had no shoes on and were poorly dressed. It looked like they had many people living there and where taking apart cars in the back and had trailers what seemed like local would congregate to and lots of garbage stacked and smelled bad they said they had breakfast but didn’t. Our room had no ice bin. Pillow case and cups. Which I found my self after waiting for quite awhile in a storage room that was open. Very bad experience. I felt very unsafe while packing my things in our vehicle. I could not leave fast enough
