Room was comfortable, simple check-in and checkout and communication was superb. Also appreciated the completely water and snacks in the room.

Hele kleine kamer maar prima voor 1 nachtje. Brandalarm ging 's ochtends af en duurde wel vrij lang voordat deze uit werd gezet (kan je zelf niet bij behalve als je 2m lang bent). Ging volgens mij af doordat gasten rookten in hun kamer dus hier kan het hotel uiteraard niets aan doen. Overall fijne ervaring en heerlijk overnacht, enige echte minpunt was wel dat de badkamer heel vreemd en sterk rook elke keer dat je de kamer weer inliep.

This was our second time staying here. We love this cute little place. Staff was super friendly and it's location is perfect for the cheese market and other sites. There is no air conditioning is the only downside. We definitely will stay here again if we are back in that area.

Very quaint, in the center of the village, everything within walking distance. Breakfast on site. Excellent dinners and lunches available on site. Friendly staff. No elevator, but help with luggage.

Het is erg gehorig. In ieder geval op de bovenste verdieping. Alsof er mensen nog boven wonen. Niet rustgevend als bezoeker. Ontvangst en vertrek zou ik wat gastvrijer en vriendelijker opvangen. Voor de rest degelijk onderkomen voor een nachtje

Great location, clean and quiet.

There is no lobby, since the hotel is connected with a restaurant/lounge. But once in the room, wow... very clean and everything is nice. Super quiet at night, almost *too* quiet. Once outside, it is a 30 second walk to Waagplein, the center of Almaar (where the cheese market is held during the summer). Perfect.

All staff were really helpful and the room was clean with unexpected extras like completely ear plugs, safe and a fridge with water, pop and a few snacks. A beautiful location in with canals and tourist attractions on the doorstep. Also a great base to get to Oosterhout parkrun. My room was a little tired with a cracked window and other mantinance bits with a steap staircase so not advisable for anyone with mobility isues but overall a great stay and would recommend and would stay again. X

Needs more setup as a hotel.

Nice bathroom. Nice bed. Nice location. Check-in terrible. Very hard to get wifi password from hotel. Took 4 tries - up and down lots of stairs so many times. This place is primarily a restaurant that runs the hotel as an add-on. A very young waitress ended up saving the day, since she took over the task and saved the day. Bed is an extremely tight fit in a small room. Could not get TV to work (on TV mode). Did not know if subscription services were gratis or billed to room. They should really fix this.

Nice restaurant, worn down room

Good restaurant and a beautiful neighbourhood, but the room itself was somewhat worn down. The smoke from the smokers in the street drifted into the room, the door gave off load alarm signals when I tried to close it, and I couldn’t get the light in the bathroom to work. I’m certain these issues can be, and might already be, adressed though. I cannot recommend Alkmaar enogh. So don’t hesitate to go.

My room had several issues. The main one being that the bathroom door was missing!! Not only that, but the shower handle was broken and I couldn’t regulate the temperature, and finally, the window was cracked and wouldn’t close. The staff fixed the shower and window, but they didn’t have anyone to handle the bathroom issue, which you can imagine, is critical. All they did was say “I’m sorry” and that’s it. I wouldn’t recommend this place and will ask for a refund
