Top Alleghenies and Susquehanna Valley Hotel Reviews
1863 Inn of Gettysburg
8/10 Good
"This was our second time staying at the 1863 Inn at Gettysburg. The room was very clean and the bathroom updated.
PROS: Great location! We were able to walk the cemetary and the entire town easily from our location. The location can't beat. Close to stores, restaurants and attractions.
CONS: The property is a bit dated. There's a musty smell throughout. Our particular room was very damp although the air conditioner kept the room cool, everything just felt damp and the room was humid. In addition there was no bathroom fan.
Overall we will still continue to come back as the location is perfect. The staff were all very nice."
"We stayed for 2 nights during our recent visit to Hershey Park. It was close to the park and very convenient. The room was sufficient for our stay as we only went there to sleep. The room was not cleaned while we were there and our beds did not get made. I had to ask for towels and toilet paper when needed. The floor turned our socks brown, so we wore flip flops in the room. It’s fine if you need a place to crash, but could use some improvement for sure. I will say the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The hot tub was warm and relaxing. Overall, we had a good experience and would return."
"Everything went exactly as planned. The only thing I would note is that they ran out of disabled parking spaces in front, and I had to find a suitable space in back. The parking in back is ample, so I suspect the management can afford to set aside a few more spaces in front for disabled parking."
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Harrisburg-Hershey
8/10 Good
"Hotel was good. Clean. Nice staff. Breakfast was ok. You can tell the eggs were fake like powered or something… cereal, yogurt and waffles were good enough..and the indoor pool needed skimming."
"You can not choose a better location to stay in Gettysburg. The hotel is right on Lincoln Square and so convenient to restaurants, shops, ghost tours, walking tours, etc. We felt like we were part of history by staying here. The hotel is beautiful and super clean. The staff is friendly. Our car wouldn't fit in the garage so the staff helped us find an oversized spot for the night. The battlefields are just down the road."
