Great hotel and I hope the problems we had were only teething problems. This is not yet a 5 star hotel. Once it improves its processes, guest service and restaurant experience it will get there.
The hotel looks good and is well furnished and quiet except for the traffic noise that is normal for Altea. The spa pool was very good and clean. The restaurant lacks ambience, service was poor and the food overpriced in comparison to lots of great restaurants nearby.
The service at breakfast and check-in was good. However, the evening before we were leaving we informed them we would need an early checkout by 8am. This caused problems! It took a while to sort out after first being told that we couldn’t checkout early. In the end we paid the evening before after seeing an itemisation of our bill on WhatsApp msgs on a hotel screen. It put a sour note to our stay. We still have not received an invoice for the bills charged to our room. I hope this hotel improves as we would like to stay there agin and we travel to Altea frequently to visit family.
