From the outside the hotel is starting to show its age but clearly there is refurbishment work ongoing. The public areas and rooms are spotless, well appointed and comfortable. The rooms are large and comfortable and we will use the hotel again

Room was clean and spacious, staff friendly. I booked for 2 nights but only stayed one. This was during a heat wave, the air-conditioning was not working and windows did not open fully. No fans offered and the bed had a medium weight duvet and nothing lighter. I left early because it was impossible to sleep. I understand the aircon has been broken for some time

Booked a room in April / 2026 because website said it had Air Conditioning and a onsite restaurant. When arriving on July 8th/2026 hotel had neither. England experiencing a heat wave and no air conditioning. Front desk said A/C quit three weeks prior to my check in date. Would have appreciated a notice prior to checking in and I would have found another place. Front desk provided a fan which was of little help. Front desk said they would contact management about a refund since we checked out a day early. Never happened on the refund. Would definitely not recommend!

Not my first stay here, so this was my preference. A nice enough, comfortable hotel with good road links in various directions. Room we had was a good size and comfortable. We’re returning there later this week without concern.

Very basic hotel, fine if you just need somewhere to sleep for the night. Hot taps are very hot and water pressure is very high, so difficult to get the flow and temperature right for a shower, without it being too hot or too cold, or blasting water horizontally. Shower curtain very small so bathroom floor is flooded after a shower. Beds are very hard and not very comfortable. I only booked this because nothing else was available (high demand due to BTCC at Thruxton). Staff was very friendly and parking is good. Located close to decent pubs and restaurants.

V. Disappointing. I checked in during the afternoon. But needed to leave as had other plans that day. On returning to to hotel at around 21:00 in the evening and entering the room for the first time to see properly, my family and I were immediately swarmed by insects in the corridor that were on the walls and room door, so after entering the room at haste to avoid any critters to follow, we were in the room which was very dated and in need of an overhaul. The bathroom had tiles missing and further critters making it their home.! My daughters, found when going to bed dirty sheets, mine was thankfully ok. However when I was ready for some sleep and wanting to cool the room found the AC not working, a very unwanted experience considering the country had just had the hottest day of the year. My mistake was not upping sticks and leaving immediately, instead of staying the night.. in the morning, we gathered our belongings left the room, fort our way through the critters and packed our luggage in the car. When advising the receptionist of the issues encountered I got a sorry and that the maintenance team would be sent to inspect the issues, however I continued by saying I would not be staying for the second night as planned which was greeted by a surprised look and the response “are you sure”, to which I replied yes I’m sure, the receptionist to his credit did try to offer me an upgrade at no extra cost.! But at this point I was happy to leave and get my money back for the 2nd nigh

Rooms were nice and clean, check in swift and staff friendly. Had the worst nights sleep of my life though. Had to move rooms at 12am as couldn’t get to sleep in my first room due to a constant drone sound from a pump in the building. Reception staff moved me immediately. Finally settled down in the new room only for the fire alarm to go off at 2am. I’m sure my experience would’ve been fine had it not been for those problems

The check-in staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and had all the amenities. The bathroom was sparkling, the shower very good and there was a heated towel rail. The location is well signposted, has plenty of parking space and is an easy 15 minute walk from the centre of town.
