"We booked into the Boreas for our honeymoon. The staff were very helpful, and even upgraded us to a bigger room. However, this is where the trouble in paradise began. Even though we were upgraded, there were many things wrong. First of all the TV, although a smart TV has been deactivated due to “noise”. The showerhead was broken upon our arrival. Although an Internet came relatively swiftly, the next day to fix the issue. Even when we went to use the Jacuzzi, there was an awful egg smell coming...

"I have stayed at this hotel before, but on the Lugal side. Everything was perfect as usual. I got my room upgraded without asking. The location is excellent, close to all shopping. "It's an older property in need of improvement in a few areas. That said, I would stay there again when I next visit Ankara. The location is superb. Lots of bars and restaurants only a short walk away. The sites of interest are a easily reached in a taxi. The included breakfast is not up to much. We did not take dinner I the hotel so can't comment on the food. Overall, a bit faded but good value and in a great spot."

We specifically requested a non-smoking room, but the room we were given smelled like a smoking room, which was not what we had asked for. Upon check-in, we also noticed that the coffee cups had not been cleaned from the previous guest, and one of them had clearly been used as an ashtray. That was a very unpleasant first impression.
